From Pain to Peace
A safe and gentle way to be with physical or emotional pain without judgment or expectation. Allowing your breath to create a safe space for being with pain, inviting the breath to breathe the pain away and lift you into peace.
Transcript
Allow yourself to settle.
This particular visualization is not about a certain style of posture.
This is about pure comfort.
So find some position that allows you to be as comfortable as possible.
Allow yourself to breathe into an open heart and an open mind as if you are washing yourself in a shower of willingness to just be fully present in this moment with whatever is happening in your body.
Nice easy breath.
Allowing yourself to relax as much as possible.
And imagine that your body is like a sponge filling with water.
With every breath becoming heavier and heavier.
Your muscles relaxing,
Shoulders dropping.
Settling even deeper into the support beneath you.
As you breathe,
Bring your attention to your chest and notice the rise and fall with each breath.
See if you can become aware of your heart.
Maybe you can feel it beat.
Maybe it's just a sense of it,
This place that represents the heart and love.
And if it feels right and comfortable,
Lightly place your hands over your heart,
Your left hand over your right hand,
And breathe.
And now relax your arms down to a resting position in whatever way feels natural and comfortable.
Feeling easily,
Feeling grounded and deeply relaxed.
Slowly bring your focus inward,
Relaxed and fully present in this moment.
Allow your attention to gently scan your body for any pain or discomfort.
Maybe there's somewhere in your body that aches and your awareness is easily focused there.
Or perhaps the pain is emotional and deeper than the body.
Notice that and just breathe.
Allow your attention to just rest there with the pain.
Don't try to change it.
Try not to judge it.
Just notice that place where pain is present here with you in this moment.
And if that pain pulses,
Seems to have a heartbeat of its own,
Allow yourself to breathe in time with that pain.
Let your breath to the heartbeat of the pain.
And with your next breath,
Imagine that you are pulling that fresh,
Pure air into your lungs and sending it to that place in you that hurts.
Pull the air of each inhale deeply into that place of pain.
And then exhale fully and completely.
Sending pure,
Healing air into that place in your body that is holding pain.
And exhaling,
Pulling the belly in to ensure that you expel all that pain and stale air completely.
Take a moment to really check in and see if you've tensed around that pain.
And if you have,
Just notice and breathe.
Being relaxed,
Allowing your shoulders to drop.
And if you're able,
Breathe and relax a little bit more.
Let each breath flow lightly to that place.
Allowing the air and your attention to be with it in this moment exactly as it is.
And now imagine that with your next breath,
A soft mist begins to surround you.
Notice the coolness of it on your skin.
Imagine that you can feel that cold air against the back of your throat as you inhale.
And imagine that cool,
Soothing air swirling in and around you,
So gentle and yet somehow vibrant and powerful.
And now imagine that this mist begins to gather around you,
Completely encircling you.
And gently begins to lift you.
Feel your body beginning to gently,
Slowly lift,
Weightless and completely at ease.
While you realize that you are floating effortlessly,
Your whole body relaxed and at peace.
You feel safe and completely whole and free.
Absolutely so light and relaxed and free.
Allow this weightlessness to ease into every part of your body.
Imagine that every cell is filled with pure light and air and is expanding and lifting.
And all you have to do is breathe.
You are floating so easily,
So free and light and completely at peace.
Aah!
Uh!
And with your next inhale,
Gently bring your awareness to your belly and pull that belly in as you exhale completely.
And again,
Inhale and then exhale completely,
Bringing your awareness back to your body,
Noticing that you are resting comfortably on the support beneath you,
Gently bringing your attention to the room around you.
And when you're ready,
Slowly opening your eyes,
Feeling relaxed,
Refreshed,
And at peace.
And with your next inhale,
Gently bring your awareness back to your belly and pull that

Thank you! I am going through a stormy time-another “Dark Night of the soul” this really helped me gain more clarity and I don’t like what is being revealed… this only helps me to grow and live in the Truth. Namaste

Perfect for me today 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Yes, breathing happens naturally and without effort…but it can be excruciatingly painful and should never be taken for granted. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thank you! I feel more relaxed, refreshed and calm. Its more about accepting the pain that makes us feel less of it and allows us to keep moving forward.

So good. Love the mist, I felt the cool and needed that. I mainly came to ease depression, which this meditation didn’t really affect, but it was wonderful for my chronic pain and recently injured knee. I really felt completely and physically at ease for a few lovely minutes. Thank you!

Very calming and soothing meditation. Bethany has a lovely voice. However, as a few other reveiwers have noted, the bell at the end is very disutbing.
