Welcome to a gratitude practice.
Focusing on gratitude,
Especially at the beginning of the day,
Can set the tone of your day.
At home you can make a gratitude wall and write what you are grateful for.
Doing this practice with your child shows your child that you believe in the power of positivity and that our thoughts shape our actions.
Children might say they are grateful for their family or their favorite toy.
Try not to change their response.
Honor it and let it be.
Let's try this practice together.
Close your eyes or look down and think about someone,
Something,
An emotion or feeling that you are grateful for in this moment.
Now breathe in.
How does this make you feel?
And exhale.
Breathe in.
Name what you are grateful for.
And exhale out.
Keep thinking about what you are grateful for in this moment.
Breathe in.
And release.
And release.
Throughout the day if you find you or your child stuck to a particular emotion,
You can remind each other of what you are grateful for on this particular day.
