The good thing is that you are aware of this feeling.
Take a few natural breaths.
Where do you feel this tension?
Is it in the muscles in your face,
Your neck or your heart?
Continue to breathe and become aware of these sensations that are manifesting in your body.
Imagine a jar filled with glitter and water.
Shake the jar.
Your thoughts,
Feelings and emotions are the glitter particles swirling around in your mind.
Now imagine yourself putting the jar down,
Putting your thoughts,
Feelings,
Emotions down and letting them settle.
The pause just after the exhalation,
Just before the inhalation allows yourself to acknowledge and release these thoughts.
In that pause let each thought,
Emotion and feeling settle one by one.
Take a few breaths noticing and releasing.
After your thoughts have settled,
Invite new,
Comforting,
Peaceful,
Calmer thoughts into your jar or your mind.
Take a few breaths,
Every inhale a new,
Comforting thought comes in.
Now begin to shake your jar.
The old thoughts,
Feelings or emotions rise and coexist with the calmer thoughts.
Our sufferings coexist with the joys of our lives,
But those old thoughts and patterns are dimmer now.
They don't hold too much power.
Our new thoughts and emotions give new life and calm the body and mind.
Take a few more breaths,
Bask in this new energy,
Newfound peace you are experiencing.
When we invite our thoughts to settle,
We make space for these brighter,
Calmer thoughts to live.
