This meditation is for all the parents and children that are experiencing distant learning. Start your day off mindfully by setting an intention together and doing a breathing excersise with these intentions.

One way you can start your day with your child is to set an intention for the day.

Intentions are not about achieving.

An intention is about looking deep inside yourself and how you want to live.

Some examples of intentions might be,

I am peaceful,

I am kind,

Or I am focused.

We repeat our intentions to ourselves in the present tense.

You can even write the intention that your child created and the intention you created for yourself somewhere everyone can see.

Look back at the intention throughout the day.

If you find yourself forgetting your intention,

Remember this is a practice.

You can remind yourself of your intention and try again.

Self-compassion is so important.

When we are kinder to ourselves,

There will be a ripple effect of kindness.

As you think of your intention for the day,

You can close your eyes with your child,

Sitting side by side.

Start your intention with I am and whatever you feel you want to work on today.

Maybe it's being more peaceful,

More kind.

So close your eyes or look down and breathe in the intention,

I am,

And exhale the word that you're working on.

So peaceful or kindness or love.

Keep taking those breaths in,

I am,

And exhale your intention.

Inhale,

I am,

And exhale your intention.

Let your body radiate this beautiful intention that you have set for yourself and that your child has set for himself for herself.
