Are you ready to meditate with Cori?
Make sure that you're laying down in your bed and you're super comfortable.
You're wearing your cozy,
Comfy pajamas.
You're allowing yourself to relax.
It's time to let go of your day so that you can finally,
Hopefully,
Fall fast asleep in your bed.
Now,
A lot of the time when we lay down in bed,
We have all of these different thoughts racing through our mind.
Thoughts about the day.
Thoughts about tomorrow.
So many thoughts.
Sometimes we lay in bed and we don't want to be in bed.
Sometimes we lay in bed and we're scared.
Sometimes we get into bed and we don't want to because we want to stay with our parents or we want to stay downstairs where everybody is.
There can be many reasons why we don't want to be in our bed.
But one thing that's really nice that you can do when you get into bed is use your imagination.
So what we're going to do,
Me and you,
We're going to use our imagination.
Imagine that instead of being laying in your bed,
You're laying in a big,
Beautiful field and it's covered in white daisies.
Now,
White daisies happen to be one of my favorite flowers.
What's your favorite flower?
If you have a favorite flower,
Then imagine that you're laid in a field full of your favorite flowers.
Maybe as well as my daisies,
We can mix them together and be together.
So imagine that in your mind.
You're laid on the grass,
Surrounded by all of these pretty flowers.
And you can smell them.
Maybe they smell really sweet.
Maybe they smell like roses,
Or daffodils,
Or tulips.
Or maybe your flowers don't have a smell and that's okay too.
Either way,
This is your special field that you're laying down in.
And you're surrounded by my white daisies,
And maybe your flower too.
Also,
Imagine that there's a really nice breeze in the air.
A gentle breeze that's warm on the surface of your skin.
A gentle breeze that maybe smells like fresh cut grass.
Or maybe it just smells like the earth on a warm,
Sunny day.
And this is really nice and calming because the breeze feels like it tickles your skin a little bit.
It feels warm as you feel it move over your skin.
And that warmth feels a bit like a cozy blanket.
So that feels nice too.
The grass underneath your body is really soft and spongy.
It could feel just like your mattress.
It's cozy and soft and comfortable to lay on.
If you open your eyes as you lay down in the grass,
And you look up at the sky.
The sky is a really nice blue color today.
It's a bright blue because of the sun.
And there's some pretty clouds in the sky.
Fluffy ones.
Big,
Fluffy clouds.
And the fluffy clouds look like certain shapes.
And as you lay there on the grass,
You can look up at the sky and imagine all of these perfect clouds looking like animals that you like.
Maybe you start to think about your favorite animal.
What's your favorite animal?
Look at the cloud up in the sky and think about your favorite animal and how that cloud looks just like it.
And seeing your favorite animal in the sky makes you feel happy.
It makes you feel like you're not alone in your bed.
Because you have your favorite animal up there in the sky looking down on you.
And maybe your favorite animal is smiling at you.
Maybe your favorite animal is talking to you.
What if it says hi?
What would you say back?
What would you say back to your favorite animal?
What if your favorite animal knows you really well already?
What if your favorite animal is like,
Secretly your bestest friend,
And they know everything about you?
They know what you like.
They know what you don't like.
Your favorite animal knows how to make you feel safe.
Maybe your favorite animal knows how to make you giggle and laugh.
Your favorite animal.
Maybe this particular favorite animal may be invisible in your world,
When you're up and about and you're at school or you're with your friends,
Or you're in your house with your family.
But he or she is there with you all the time.
And that's why they know you so well.
They're like your little shadow,
Loving on you.
Watching you and being friends with you,
Even if they were invisible.
That would be pretty darn cool,
Right?
So let's imagine that.
Let's imagine that this animal that's up there in the clouds,
That's there,
That's your favorite animal,
Knows every single thing about you.
And because they know every single thing about you,
And they're your special,
Invisible friend,
That's always,
Always with you.
That's why they're here right now,
Up in the sky,
So that you are not alone in your bed.
You can talk to them,
You can laugh with them,
You can play with them.
What game would you play if you could play a game with your favorite animal?
What game would that be?
Would you play video games?
That would be funny,
Right?
Can you imagine playing video games with your favorite animal?
Would you play soccer?
Or would you play skipping?
Or would you rollerblade with your favorite animal?
Maybe you could even go swimming with your favorite animal.
That would be pretty cool.
Can you imagine?
You two swimming in a pool together?
Or in the ocean together?
There's so many things that you could do with your favorite animal up there,
That big fluffy cloud that looks just like them.
That's keeping you company right now,
So that you're not alone.
You're never really alone if you have an invisible favorite animal that's with you all the time,
Right?
You could even use your imagination and imagine that your favorite animal is with you at school.
So if you're having a bad day at school,
Or maybe you've had a fallout with a friend and you're upset,
Or maybe you feel lonely and it's recess and no one's playing with you,
What if all you had to do was look up at the sky and find one of those big white fluffy clouds?
And see that fluffy cloud in the shape of your favorite animal.
And then you could play.
You could communicate back and forward with each other,
Talking,
Laughing,
Telling each other jokes.
You could play your favorite games together.
You wouldn't have to be alone at school.
Just because you're allowing yourself to open your mind and use your imagination so that you realize that you don't have to be alone.
That's pretty cool.
I do that a lot.
Sometimes when I'm feeling really lonely,
Or I'm scared,
Or I'm upset,
I look up at the sky and I imagine that I have a bunch of friends there in the sky.
They're my friends.
They're those kind of friends that never fall out with each other.
They never leave me,
No matter what I say,
No matter what mistakes I make,
No matter what I do.
Those friends are always,
Always my friends.
And they love me unconditionally.
And that always makes me feel really happy.
It makes me realize that I'm not alone.
I'm never,
Ever alone.
I'm never,
Ever alone really.
Just like you.
We can use our imagination.
We can just pretend.
We can pretend to be with our friends,
Or our favorite animal.
And then we can feel complete.
We don't have to feel alone.
Because really,
You're not alone,
Are you?
Even right now,
You're here with me.
Even though you're listening to me,
And I might be hundreds and hundreds of miles away.
That doesn't really matter,
Does it?
Because right now,
You can hear me in your bedroom.
And I'm here with you.
And we're together.
And I'm your friend.
And no matter what you do,
No matter what you say,
No matter if you were mean,
Or angry,
Or upset,
It doesn't matter.
Because I would still be your friend.
We would still be friends together.
And we could laugh.
And we could joke.
Or we could even just be quiet together and fall to sleep together.
You can get all cozy in your bed.
You can roll over and lay on your side now if you want to.
Snuggle with one of your teddies.
You can just relax.
And let yourself fall to sleep.
I'm going to play some music and be quiet for a while.
But know that I be still here with you.
And you're not alone.
Sweet dreams,
My little friend.
