This meditation is a lesson. I am teaching you how to mentally protect yourself from colds, the flu, viruses, monsters, the dark, bullies, etc. It is an exercise that both children and adults can do to help them to feel safe during these times of stress. Of course, we all still have to use our common sense and wash our hands, be as hygienic as possible, and stay away from big crowds of people. We are still obligated to still report a bully to a teacher or parent, this teaching is more to help.

Are you ready to meditate with Kari?

Make sure that you're lying comfortable in bed so that you can relax and listen and let go of your day.

This is all about protection.

This is a guided meditation that's going to help you to feel protected.

I'm going to teach you a technique that you can use at any time daytime,

Nighttime,

When you're alone or when you're with people at school.

Wherever you want to you can use this technique.

First of all make sure that you're completely comfortable and take a nice big deep breath for me.

So breathe in all the way down to the bottom of your tummy and then breathe out and let it go.

When you breathe out breathe out through your mouth a big sigh like that.

Again take a nice big deep breath for me.

Breathe all the way down to the base of your tummy,

Base of your belly and then breathe it all out a big sigh.

Close your eyes if you haven't done so already.

This guided meditation is all about using your imagination.

That means picturing things in your mind when I suggest them.

What I'm going to suggest to you is that in front of you is a big ball of white light.

A big giant ball.

If you can imagine it in your mind looking like an egg.

An egg that you can step into.

It's that big and then when you step inside it you're completely surrounded like in this cave or in a dome or in a protective shell by this big white light that's the shape of an egg all around your body.

So if you reached your arms out to the side in your mind you wouldn't be able to touch the sides and if you reached your arms up over your head you wouldn't be able to touch it.

It'd be just above your fingertips and then it's below your feet so the space underneath your feet.

So you have this big giant ball of light all around you.

What's awesome about this light is it's magic.

So whenever you imagine that you're inside your white egg.

You're inside your big white ball of light.

You can step inside it and that's all it takes.

You imagine in your mind that you're stepping forward into a big white egg.

Your protective egg.

Once you're inside nothing,

Nothing at all can get to you.

So imagine that this magic egg all around you is like a big protective shell.

It has an electric laser beam around it that's bright white and anything that touches it gets zapped.

You know like when a moth flies into the light and it gets zapped.

Just like that.

Imagine that you have an electric current that's buzzing and vibrating in your white egg all around you that's protecting you and keeping you very very safe.

Now this white egg keeps you protected from anything that's going on in the world like flu or cold.

It protects you from viruses.

It protects you when people sneeze around you because you're in your white egg and nothing can get to you.

It protects you from bad people or monsters or anything that scares you.

So if you're having a bad time at nighttime when you go to bed and you're a little bit scared of the dark or you're scared of something that you think is under your bed.

You know how your imagination goes really really crazy.

You can just imagine that you're stepping into your white egg and then you're completely safe.

Nothing can get in that egg.

Nothing at all.

Nothing that's bacterial.

Nothing that's an object.

Nothing that's a person or a monster or an animal.

Absolutely nothing can get into your white egg.

You are safe.

How cool is that?

All you have to do like I said any time a day daytime nighttime whenever you want to whenever you feel like it if you walk into a room and there's a crowd of people and you feel uncomfortable boom step into your egg you'll be totally safe.

If you're at school and everyone's sick around you and they've got cold or they're coughing or sneezing step into your egg in your mind.

Boom you're totally safe.

Nothing can get through.

You won't get sick.

If you're in a situation where there's something happening at school and there's a bully an awful bully and you just don't want to deal with it step into your egg.

You'll be totally safe like a protective shield.

Like you're a superhero behind your egg.

Like nothing can touch you.

Nothing can hurt you.

Nothing can frighten you.

Nothing can make you sick.

You are safe.

That's totally cool.

But all you need to do this is your imagination.

You don't need me.

You don't need an adult.

You don't need an animal.

You don't need a magical wish.

You don't need anything.

You just need your imagination.

Your imagination is so powerful that it can protect you because it protects your energy.

It protects your body and it protects your mind.

You are all-powerful and you can keep yourself completely safe from all the craziness that's going on around in the world at the moment right now.

You are safe.

Use your imagination.

Close your eyes.

Step into your egg and you're safe.

Protect yourself every night when you go to bed.

Imagine you're sleeping in your egg and you'll be totally safe.

Imagine that you're stepping into your egg before you go into school and if people are sick or they're coughing or whatever it doesn't matter because you're safe.

You're in your egg.

Your protective shield against all of the world around you.

Now I think you can totally do this.

I think you should tell your parents or your guardians about this because I'm doing it and all of my family's doing it and everybody I know that knows about it does it and they all feel very safe.

It makes you feel calm.

It makes you feel protected and it makes you feel safe.

So go ahead and try it.

Use your imagination.

Step into your egg whenever you need to.

I really enjoyed this. Initially I was a bit confused when a "ball" (which is round) of white light is mentioned, bit then hearing it's in the form of an egg (which is not exactly round), but since every moment from then on is referencing the egg, I chose to interpret it as the ball of energy actively changing shape and turning into the shape of an egg. No worries after that. 😁 I've been using a version of this practice myself for decades. The egg is one of two shapes I use - the more all-encompassing and robust one - and a sparkling White-Gold tube that looks very much like the transporter effect in the original Star Trek tv show is the other. It can whisk me away from danger at a moment's notice. The way this practice was described was great for kids (I used to be an assistant childcare teacher and did my own meditations with my own child at home), and resonated well with adult sensibilities too. I think it could also be helpful for use in the disability community, as well. I've worked for almost 20 years in that field, and in certain conditions, comprehension of external events can be less developed than that of an average peer's. This simple explanation, which does NOT (thank goodness) include language or tone suggestive of superiority or authoritarianism as many practices for the younger set do, is a welcome change and I suspect readily adaptable for those with comprehension/cognitive challenges, those living with paralyzing anxiety and/or fear, and many other conditions, across all age groups. For that most especially, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I myself am a chronic pain patient with multiple disabling conditions, and this particular demographic is often either ignored or infantalized. This lovely meditation practice does neither of those. It is, perhaps, almost universally helpful. (Add in some texture and sensory details/cues for the visually impaired and that should cover almost all remaining bases.)
