Are you ready to meditate with Kari?

Lie down in your bed and get super comfortable.

Try not to wiggle around too much.

Be as still as you possibly can.

Make sure that you have a nice,

Cozy light in your room.

You're wearing your comfortable pajamas so you can relax your body and let go of your busy day.

If it feels right for you,

Close down your eyes,

As everything we're about to do feels so much nicer with your eyes closed.

Take a nice,

Big,

Deep breath.

Breathe as deep as you possibly can,

The biggest breath,

As if you were trying to breathe in the entire world and breathe out.

Breathe in again,

A nice,

Big,

Deep,

Deep,

Deep,

Deep breath.

Breathe all the way down and breathe out.

Take all of your focus and attention down to your toes.

You can wiggle your toes while you're laid in bed.

Feel them moving around.

This helps you to pull your attention down into the feeling and the sensation of you wiggling them in bed.

And then stop moving your toes and keep them as still as you can.

Now,

See if you can feel any movement inside of your toes.

You have to focus,

Really,

Really focus,

And see if you can feel any tingling sensations in your toes and your feet.

It's very subtle,

So you might not notice it,

But you also may be able to feel it.

Either way,

Know that it's there.

There's a buzzing,

Tingling sensation inside of your body all the time.

It's just life force and energy,

But if you stay still and quiet,

Sometimes you can really focus in and feel it.

Your mind is super powerful,

So powerful,

And your mind talks to your body.

So sometimes when you say nice things about yourself,

Your body will respond in healthy,

Happy ways.

Sometimes when we're not so nice to ourselves,

Our bodies will respond in unhappy ways.

We may feel heavy and sad or tired.

Sometimes if we repeat not being nice to ourselves,

Our bodies start to feel ill.

We might get cold or get sick.

So it's really important that you know how powerful your mind is,

And that way,

If possible,

You always try and be positive about yourself.

But in another way that your mind is very powerful is that it speaks to your body when you use your intention to,

So you can tell your feet to relax.

Internally,

Just say to your feet using your mind,

Relax feet,

It's time to relax.

Your feet will respond by feeling relaxed and heavy and tired.

Now,

Think about your legs,

Specifically your lower legs.

Use your mind and tell your lower legs,

Relax,

It's time to relax,

And notice that your legs will soften and feel as if they're falling a little bit into your bed.

Your legs will relax.

Think about your upper legs,

The tops of your legs,

Focus and tell them,

Relax,

It's time to relax,

And notice how your upper legs get heavy and soft.

Let's do your arms.

You can start with your left arm,

Or you can choose whichever one you want.

Think about that one arm,

Use your mind and say,

Relax,

It's time to relax arm,

Relax.

If you're staying still and quiet and not moving at all,

You'll feel your arm get super heavy and comfortable and relaxed.

Let's do the other arm,

Relax arm,

It's time to relax.

Notice how that arm gets heavy and soft,

More comfortable in your bed.

This is the power of your mind,

You're talking to your own body,

So you can get comfortable for your story.

Let's see if you can relax your torso,

Your tummy,

Your back,

Your chest,

That whole part of your body,

Focus,

Make sure your eyes are closed.

Say relax body,

It's time to relax,

Feel how your body sinks deeper into the bed.

Let's relax your head now,

Let your head be really still on the pillow,

Relax,

It's time to relax head,

Let your head feel heavy and notice how it softens deeper into the pillow.

Now with all of your body super comfortable and relaxed,

You're going to use your imagination With your eyes closed,

Imagine that you can see yourself in your mind,

Walking through the streets of a town,

Maybe it's a town that you know,

A town that you've walked through before,

Walking past the different stores and the people.

Everyone seems happy in the town,

Imagine that people are smiling at you and saying hello,

Some of the people know you personally and you smile at them,

Something's happening in the town today and everyone is buzzing and excited.

You stop and ask one of the people,

Why is there so many people here on the streets?

Why is it so busy?

And the happy gentleman that you stop says,

Today is the butterfly parade,

It happens once a year and that's why everyone is here.

You think to yourself,

Oh,

Wonderful,

I love butterflies,

Hundreds of people are lining the streets on either side,

Like a real parade,

As if they're waiting for the different vehicles to roll by on the road,

But this isn't the normal parade that you would think of,

This is a butterfly parade,

Apparently.

You find a spot at the side of the road and stand and wait with everyone else,

Some people have little flags that they're waving from side to side,

Some of the children have butterfly flags,

And their flags are shaped like butterflies,

As if the butterflies are flying every time they wave them back and forth.

And then you hear people clapping and cheering down the road,

And you know that something's happening down there.

It's not too long before you see what they're clapping and cheering about.

It looks like a wave of blue is coming towards you in the sky,

There's thousands and thousands of blue butterflies,

Flying just above people's heads.

It's the most beautiful thing you've ever seen,

There's that many butterflies that the whole sky looks like it's been taken over by waves and waves of them,

Flapping their wings moving in unison,

As if they're on a mission,

Going somewhere that no one else knows about,

And you just happen to be right there at the time when the butterfly parade is taking place.

You can't believe your eyes,

There's so many,

You can't see the sky through the butterflies,

There's that many of them,

And they're all blue,

Different shades of blue.

Some of them are bigger than others,

Some of them look quite tiny,

It's so cool.

And then the blue starts to change colour,

At first you just see the odd red butterfly flying in the blue ones,

And then there's more red ones,

And then there's more red ones,

And then there's less and less blue ones,

And then,

Before you know it,

There's a red wave of butterflies above your head.

The red wave of butterflies makes you think of a field of poppies,

Blowing in the wind,

As if the wind was blowing them from side to side.

The movement of the butterflies' wings looks just like that,

Rippling poppies as the wind blows through the fields.

Once again,

There's thousands and thousands of them,

Blocking out the blue sky.

The whole sky is covered in red butterflies.

From as far as you can see,

All the people are clapping and cheering,

The smaller children are going crazy,

Jumping up and down.

You can't believe how lucky you are that you happen to be walking through town on this day,

On the Butterfly Parade Day.

You can't take your eyes off them,

They're so pretty.

You notice again that there's bigger ones and smaller ones,

Some of them are deep,

Deep,

Deep red,

And some of them are more orangey red.

They all look like they're going in the same direction,

Going to the same place.

I wonder where that is,

You think,

Where are they going?

And then the red starts to change,

You notice some yellow butterflies here and there,

And then the yellow and the red mixes and it looks like a wave of orange above your head for a few minutes,

Until all the red butterflies are on their way and now it's bright yellow above your head.

It makes you feel like you're looking at sunflowers,

The yellow feels as if it's warm,

Like you're staring at the sun,

But it's just because the colour is so happy and warm.

Thousands and thousands of yellow butterflies,

Flying over your head,

Flying over everyone's head,

Everyone's clapping and cheering.

It's so interesting how you feel warm and cozy with the yellow butterflies,

As if it's a really hot summer day.

But it isn't,

You're standing there with your coat on,

The yellow ones are your favourite so far.

There's big ones and small ones and deep yellow ones and bright yellow ones and pale yellow ones,

All flying together in unison,

Heading to wherever they're heading.

After a few minutes,

The yellow changes to pink and purple,

They're all flying together,

In and out of each other.

The pink ones make you think of love,

They make you think of roses,

Dusky pink roses,

Growing on rose bushes,

And the lilac and purple ones look so pretty.

The colours are very soft and delicate,

And it feels like a wave of loving energy rolling by over your head,

As if you're being cuddled and swaddled in a soft pink and purple fluffy blanket.

You thought yellow was your favourite,

But now,

These ones are so beautiful,

You're not so sure.

So many,

Thousands upon thousands upon thousands,

They could be millions of them for all you know,

Maybe even trillions.

This is beyond what you could have ever imagined,

It's the most amazing thing you've ever seen.

The butterfly parade is definitely your best day so far,

Bestest day that you've had since you've been alive.

And then the pink and the purple start to change to green,

There's light,

There's light green and bright green,

There's yellow green and blue green,

Dark green,

Almost black green.

Butterflies,

A wave of them starting to fly over your head,

Over everyone's head there on the streets.

It feels as if you're standing under a canopy of trees with their leaves moving,

Rustling and blowing in the wind.

You imagine yourself in the Amazon,

Surrounded by all the flora,

The plants,

The bushes,

The trees,

The vines.

It's very,

Very It's very,

Very tropical.

They look awesome,

This big giant wave of green butterflies.

You've decided that you don't have a favorite because each one is so different,

So awesome.

You're looking around at all the other people's faces and everyone is in awe,

Smiling,

Clapping,

Sometimes their mouths are wide open as if they can't believe their eyes.

And then everything starts to go white,

The whole sky turns white,

No more green.

It's like a big blanket of white snow falling over your head.

So thick that you can't see the blue sky.

There really,

Really must be trillions of white butterflies right now.

Each one of them moving their wings with a purpose,

Flying so delicately.

After a few minutes,

The white ones disappear and all of the butterflies disappear.

You look at the blue sky,

You look at the people around you.

Everyone was so impressed,

So happy to see this marvel that just took place here in this little town.

Until all the way down on the other side of the road,

You hear screams and claps and laughter,

Big,

Big,

Loud roars of approval.

And then you see it coming from the other direction is a big rainbow wave of butterflies.

All of the butterflies mixed in with each other are flying towards you.

And then when they cover over your head,

Because there's so many of them,

It's like that for minutes and minutes and minutes,

You feel like you're staring up at a sky full of confetti.

It feels like rainbow sprinkle cupcakes.

It feels like standing under a wave of skittles.

It feels as if each one of them are bringing a piece of the rainbow to you.

Never in a million years would you think that you would get to be so lucky to see the rainbow to see this wonderful butterfly parade taking place right there.

And then just as quickly as they came,

They leave.

For a few moments,

You see just the odd butterfly as if it's catching up to the rest of them.

A pink one,

A green one.

Green one.

The last one you see is a white one.

And it seems to slow down in slow motion.

It feels as if it's chosen to do that right in front of you.

Out of all the hundreds of people,

You get to focus on the white butterfly just hovering there in front of your face.

It feels like a dream.

It's like your own personal white fluffy cloud has come to see you.

And it's slow.

Its wings are moving really gracefully.

You can see its little antennas.

You can see its face.

You imagine it's smiling at you.

It feels like it is.

In your mind,

Your powerful mind,

You ask the butterfly,

Where are you all going?

The butterfly just hovers there in front of your face.

And then you hear it say,

All over the world.

We're going to the villages.

We're going to the mountains.

We'll be flying over the desert.

Over the hills.

We'll journey by the oceans.

Maybe travel through the Antarctic.

We'll go to the towns,

The cities.

We may even fly through some houses.

We're going all over the world.

And then just like that,

The white butterfly flies away.

All of them off on their journeys.

Travelling all over the world.

Finding yourself back in your bed now.

Feeling the covers and the nice,

Warm,

Soft mattress.

You can roll onto your left or your right.

Get super comfortable.

See if you can connect to your heartbeat.

See if you can feel it inside of your body.

Imagine it's just like one of those butterflies,

Beating its wings.

Maybe it's the white one.

Maybe the pink one,

The purple one.

You choose which one would you like to be right there with you.

As if it's in your heart,

Like a friend or someone that you love,

Beating along with your heartbeat.

This helps you relax.

Makes you feel calm.

Like you have a friend with you.

Or maybe it feels as if it's like your mum or your dad.

Maybe it feels like your gran or your grandad.

Maybe your butterfly could feel as if it's like your dog or your cat or your hamster.

And it's right there with you.

Your heartbeat,

Beating over and over again.

Just relax and let go.

Let your body fall to sleep.

You're safe and warm in your bed.

Your muscles are relaxing more and more,

With every breath.

Your butterfly is right there with you.
