Welcome,
Friends.
Please find a nice,
Comfortable seat.
Or if you're wanting to,
You can lay down with your chest propped up.
Today,
We will practice together square breath.
And I want you to to think about that,
I want you to imagine a square.
And every time you inhale,
We head up the one side of the square.
After the inhale,
We will hold for an equal amount of time.
So I draw the square across and then is followed by the exhale for the same length of time.
Then we draw down and then across at the bottom is the hold upon the exhale.
So all of the breath is.
Equal.
All four parts,
We have inhale,
Hold,
Exhale,
Hold.
And in the beginning,
We'll do it to my count.
And then I will give you time and space to explore at your own pace.
So roll your shoulders down your spine.
And rest your hands on your lap or beside your body.
Let's start by taking a nice,
Long,
Slow,
Deep breath in for four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Now hold three,
Two,
One.
Exhale three,
Two,
One.
Hold three,
Two,
One.
Inhale three,
Two,
One.
Hold three,
Two,
One.
Exhale three,
Two,
One.
Hold three,
Two,
One.
Inhale three,
Two,
One.
Hold three,
Two,
One.
Exhale three,
Two,
One.
Hold three,
Two,
One.
Complete around at your own pace and hold.
And exhale.
And hold.
Now,
If you want to increase the breath,
Just do it.
One second at a time.
Adding one second to all four parts of the breath.
And depending on you,
Depending on your breath,
You can start to increase or stay right where you are for this next bit of time,
Finding your pace,
Your breath.
Feel free to increase or decrease the depth of breath.
Just keeping everything even.
Maybe exploring a longer,
Deeper breath,
Maybe staying at an even pace.
Stay present,
Conscious.
Just bringing you back in case you've lost count or your mind has wandered.
Stay really present to your breath,
To your square breath,
To the evenness of the breath and the effect upon the body.
And when you reach the hold after the exhale,
Please let go of the square breath altogether.
Just take a few moments to breathe normally and come on out whenever you're ready.
Namaste.
