Until you let go of the idea that happiness is elsewhere.
It will never be where you are.
Close your eyes and bring your attention to your breath.
And notice where it seems to go.
Do you feel your belly expanding with each inhale?
Does your chest rise?
And is your ribcage expanding?
There is no right or wrong here.
However you are breathing is perfect.
And you are exactly where you are supposed to be.

Take a deep breath in.
And stretch your arms above your head.
Reaching way past your crown and into the emptiness above you.
And exhale as your arms release down into your lap.
If any thoughts start to come in during this practice,
That is okay.
Every time you start to notice your mind wandering,
Just take a deep breath in.
And bring your attention back to your breath.
Every motion your body brings,
Every breath it takes for you.
Let it serve as a reminder that you are here.
Your body is always living in the present moment.
It can never be in the past and it can never be in the future.
It is always exactly where it needs to be to serve you for your highest good.
Your mind is the mischievous one.
The time traveler.
The one who tends to wander into the past or jump ahead into the future.
It can feel almost impossible at times.
But I want to remind you that you are in control of what your body is doing in every moment.
And you are also in control of your mind.
Take a moment to notice where your mind is now.
Has it started to wander?
If your answer is yes,
Come back to your body with a deep breath in.
The very breath that fills your lungs is a living invitation to remember that you have been brought here for a purpose.
And there is still time to become all that you are meant to be.
The present moment is all you ever have.
It is the primary focus of your life.
It can be challenging to not dwell on the past.
Or to worry about the future and what is still to come.
But when you find yourself in these moments,
I remind you.
You can always come back to your body.
And you can always come back to your breath.
Focus on taking long,
Slow breaths in.
And equal breaths out.
As your mind soaks in these words,
And your body remains present to the here and now.
Every breath I take fills me with peace.
I release all negative self-talk and leave it in my past.
I deserve good things.
I acknowledge my self-worth.
My body is beautiful exactly the way it is.
I love the parts of myself that are still learning.
I love the person I am becoming.
I am enough.
I have always been enough.
Take a deep breath in.
Filling your lungs completely as you hold your breath at the top.
And exhale as you release.
I hope happiness continues to find you where you are.
And when it does,
I hope you don't doubt it.
Not even for a second.
I am so proud of you.
When you are ready,
Open your eyes back to your present reality.
