Here's a few minutes to reconnect with truth,
From a three principles perspective.
Purpose can seem like something we need to find.
It's like searching for the end of the rainbow,
Expecting there to be a big pot of gold there,
And finding that you're always on the journey and never really getting there.
That can create a lot of frustration,
A lot of a sense that we're not there yet or we're not enough in some way.
But here's a different take on this idea of purpose.
My purpose right now is to speak this talk into a microphone sat in my office.
After I've done this,
My purpose will be to make an evening meal with my fiancé.
And then I suspect my purpose will be to spend an evening with him,
Chilling out,
Maybe in front of a bit of television.
When we think of purpose as somewhere to get to,
We can get really tangled.
But what if purpose isn't a thing,
Isn't a noun,
Isn't a something to get to?
What if purpose is more like a verb?
It's more of a thing that's sort of unfolding moment by moment.
Of course,
Our thinking,
And especially the inner critic,
Is having none of that,
Is it?
Thought projects the idea that we're not there yet and that we're supposed to be somewhere and that we can't really get going properly until we really know what our purpose is.
But when you look back on your life,
Have you noticed that your purpose in every aspect of your life has just really unfolded moment by moment?
Purpose is something we live now,
In the present moment,
In the truth of what's unfolding in front of us right now.
There's something beautiful in simply showing up in the here and now,
Being and doing.
Showing up authentically just as you are,
Moment by moment.
You can't work out how life is supposed to be way off into the future.
It's just not possible.
And I know it looks like there's a lot of people out there who've found their purpose.
But you might find if you check them out again in another couple of years,
That thing that seems to be their purpose has actually changed.
Just like it is for you,
Moment by moment.
So let's dissolve that pressure.
Let's let go of this idea that there's somewhere to get to,
That there's something you need to know before you can take any action or take the next step.
Let's loosen the grip of urgency and comparison.
Let's be here now,
Unfolding,
Flowing,
Taking just the next step.
Because realistically,
That's all you can actually take.
Just that next step.
I hope this has helped you to just let go of a little of that tension around your purpose.
And realize that it was never really missing.
It's here now.
Inside you,
Ready to be expressed in this very moment.
Much love and thank you for listening.
