Welcome to day two of Mental Floss.
Today is all about giving and accepting love and kindness.
So find a place now,
Take a moment to sit,
Recline or lay down,
Safely and comfortably.
Allow your eyes to gently close and begin to notice where your body makes contact with the surface beneath you.
Notice how your feet are resting,
Comfortably supported.
Settle down into a comfortable feeling.
Begin to notice your breathing as you inhale and exhale.
Feel the air entering your body and then releasing into the world.
Your body expanding as you inhale and relaxing as you breathe out.
Gently,
Slowly,
Relaxing.
And as your body relaxes,
So does your mind.
So I'd like you to imagine someone with you now.
Someone who you feel the love and kindness towards.
And it doesn't matter who it is.
A partner,
A parent,
A child,
A friend,
Even a pet.
Just think about their smiling face.
And notice the feelings within you as you see their smiling face.
The loving,
Kind feelings within you.
And you can project these feelings outwards.
You can share these feelings.
You can imagine these feelings as a kind of energy spreading out from you.
Perhaps like a glow from within you,
Shining outwards.
Gently flowing outwards,
Towards their smile.
And then even further.
See them smiling at you.
And allow that energy to flow all around your mind.
Allow that energy to flow down into your body.
That same loving,
Kind energy.
Now flowing all around you,
Through you.
Feel that loving energy all around yourself.
Coming towards yourself and being given to others.
Feel that love and kindness flowing back towards you,
Through you,
Filling you,
Calming you.
And if you want to,
You can move one of your hands over your heart and say to yourself,
I am safe.
I am happy.
I am healthy.
I am loved.
And I'm always supported by loving kindness.
And now allow your eyes to open.
