Hello,

Insight Timers.

I want to talk to you today about productivity.

Getting results.

Now let's face it,

We've all had times when we're not getting the results that we want.

But why?

Often it doesn't matter what those results are.

Maybe to start a business.

Make a million dollars.

Finish a homework assignment.

Perhaps just to feel good enough.

To calm your mind down.

Even just to get out of bed in the morning.

There will inevitably be times in life when you have something to do but you just can't seem to bring yourself around to do it.

It's that voice,

That voice inside your head,

The one that distracts you from achievement.

Perhaps giving you an inevitability of failure.

What will other people think of you if you fail?

What will you think of yourself for that matter if you fail?

A disappointment?

Not good enough?

Not living up to expected standards?

Wow.

All this failure.

It's enough to make you feel nervous about actually starting a task.

Maybe we should just put it off until tomorrow.

No,

Let's not.

Let's see if we can wake up that motivation within you.

Let's see if we can talk some sense into that negative self-chatter.

Let's see if we can shine a light of success into the dark world of inaction.

To begin with,

What I want you to do is settle yourself down.

Just find yourself a calm,

Comfortable spot.

And getting to a relaxed position.

And when you know that you're in that comfy,

Calm position,

Whether it's sitting upright,

Legs crossed,

Or whether it's laying down flat,

Whether it's just snuggled up somewhere,

Cosy and calm,

It doesn't matter.

But when you're there,

You can just allow your eyes to close.

Because I want to increase your imagination.

So allow those eyes to gently close.

And I want you to become aware of your breathing.

Just bringing the attention away from that outside,

External world.

And instead just feeling the coolness of your breath as it enters your nostrils or mouth.

Notice your chest as it rises and falls.

Rises and falls in an easy,

Natural rhythm.

Your own perfect,

Natural rhythm.

Nothing forced.

No counting.

Just breathing in and out.

Slowly and in your own time.

Just allowing your awareness to rest on that breath.

Allowing your awareness to remain focused on that breath.

And as you allow it to quieten and deepen,

And begin to notice,

That as you allow your breath to become more and more relaxed,

That it's a natural thing.

That you don't need to make any conscious effort to breathe.

Your inner mind.

It takes care of that breathing.

From the moment of your birth,

Throughout each day,

For as long as you live.

And just as your inner mind is the guardian of your breath,

Of all bodily functions,

It's also the creator of your dreams.

That inner mind is the champion of your highest aspirations.

Your inner mind is the motivator behind all of your actions.

And it really doesn't matter if,

From time to time,

You might find your mind wandering.

Wandering away to some other pleasant thoughts.

Because your inner mind understands that now,

Right now,

Is the time.

The time for your life to begin.

To really take shape.

To move in the direction that you desire.

And that's because you've had enough.

Enough of putting things off until another time.

Never feeling like you're getting anything done.

Nor fully achieving all that you'd set out to do.

And that's why you've been feeling an increasing dissatisfaction with yourself.

For your situation.

For not realising your full potential.

And that's why you're listening to me now.

Because you know,

Now,

That now is the time.

Not tomorrow.

Not the next day.

Not even next week.

But now.

Now you're beginning to feel a little impatient.

When tasks get left undone.

Or delayed.

When you see those challenges mounting up.

Beginning to overwhelm you.

And that word,

Now,

Is taking on a new meaning for you.

To do not only the things that you have to do every day.

But now,

Freeing yourself to do all those wonderful things that you really want to do.

And suddenly you can find yourself wondering about the word now.

Because this curious little word,

It can be rearranged.

To form other impressive words.

Like the word,

One.

The word,

One,

Is just how you feel when you do something now.

One,

Or now,

Gives you a win-win feeling.

A feeling of satisfaction.

A satisfaction that is all your own.

Own.

One.

Now.

Three different words.

All containing the same three letters.

Which are becoming very significant to you right now.

Now you know how the feeling of having won makes you feel like a champion.

And doing things now is a quality that you now own.

Gone are the days of procrastinating.

Ruminating.

Putting things aside.

Putting them on hold.

Never returning to them.

Those were the days that you were disorganized.

Where you were unsettled.

And that was an old,

Unwanted pattern that probably developed when you were quite young.

Less mature.

You hadn't at that time learned then,

The tremendous feeling of satisfaction from seeing a job well done.

But this wonderfully satisfying feeling is now one that you own when you accomplish things that you've set out to do.

You are learning now how to prioritize.

By making a small list of the tasks that you want to accomplish first.

And this is so easy.

Because you can make your list at night time before you go to sleep.

And that way your inner mind can sort out the best,

The most satisfying methods for you to achieve your desires as you rest.

Without even needing to give conscious thought to what you're going to do the next morning.

But instead,

Learning to trust.

Really trust.

Trust in your inner resources.

Knowing that you know far more than you think you know.

Instinctively trusting yourself to make really good use of your time.

And you know that that time is now.

Not tomorrow.

Not the next day.

Not even next week.

But now.

Now you begin to feel this sense of urgency.

When you arise.

A strong desire to work through that list.

To accomplish not only the things that you have to do.

But also now the things that you really want to do.

And when you've worked through that small list of achievements.

Ticked off all the things that you've accomplished each day.

You truly congratulate yourself on a job well done.

You allow that tremendous feeling of complete satisfaction that you have.

Now that you really know that you've won.

You can own these good feelings.

These strong positive feelings.

When you do something right now.

Not later.

Not tomorrow.

Not the next day.

Not even the next week.

But now.

Now you really know how it feels to free yourself from those old feelings of dissatisfaction.

You can feel really good.

By doing it now.

And if there are any rare days.

Which there invariably will be.

Days when you don't accomplish everything that you'd set for yourself.

Because of unexpected interruptions or demands on your time.

You won't give up.

You won't falter.

You'll begin to feel even more determined to pick up the next day.

From where you'd left off this day.

You now do this with a renewed sense of energy.

And urgency.

Because you realize now.

That this new pattern is a pattern of success.

A pattern that you've set out for yourself and it's becoming very important for you to just do it now.

I'm going to be quiet.

For just a moment or two.

And in the quiet.

I want you to begin to really feel the significance of the word now.

In your life.

What does it mean for you now?

A feeling of freedom?

A sense of achievement from knowing that you've won?

Or perhaps a good feeling?

That is all your own.

Let your inner mind make sense of these messages now.

In it's own special way.

In it's own special way.

Now.

Now.

Now bring your mind back to the sound of my voice and know that these changes are already beginning to take place in life.

Now you can own all the good feelings that arise from knowing that you've won.

You're now organizing your time.

You're now finishing the job that you start.

And instead of putting things off until tomorrow or another day.

You determine that you're going to make this start now.

While it's fresh in your mind.

Taking action.

Having made that start you have this overwhelming desire to continue until you see positive results from having completed a job or a task well done.

Now in a moment I'm going to simply count the numbers from one to five.

And at the count of five you can feel wide wide awake and ready to begin your new program for success.

Your mind filled with all the determination and the motivation that you need to succeed.

To tackle not only the things that you have to do every day.

But now also the things that you really want to do.

And you'll be pleasantly surprised to discover that although you're doing more with your time by doing things now.

You actually now have more time than you thought you would have.

Which for you means that you've won.

You are in a win-win situation and you can feel fantastic about this.

So bring yourself back at the count of five.

And allow yourself to really enjoy these feelings of satisfaction and motivation that you rightfully own.

Let's start with one.

Two.

Three.

Coming back slowly.

Four.

Eyes beginning to flutter.

And five.

Eyes open wide awake.

Mind and body returning to now.
