Your ADHD Brain Isn't Broken: A Nervous System Reframe For Women

With Caroline Bakker

This course is for the ADHD woman who has spent years believing she just needs to try harder. Across six lessons, you'll learn the actual mechanics behind ADHD, dysregulation, and dopamine — not surface-level tips, but the real "why" behind what you feel every day. We'll cover how the ADHD nervous system regulates arousal and threat differently, why willpower was never the missing piece, how your hormonal cycle interacts with focus and motivation, and what regulation actually looks like in the overstimulated, sensitive experience of motherhood. The course closes with a guided practice you can return to any time your system feels like too much. By the end, you'll have a working understanding of your own nervous system — and a practical toolkit for meeting it with compassion instead of shame.

Meet your Teacher

Caroline Bakker is a certified meditation teacher and author whose work sits at the intersection of ADHD in women, nervous system regulation, and hormonal awareness. Her teaching is built on the belief that nervous system dysregulation makes complete sense given a person's context, and that healing becomes possible once that context is understood rather than judged. Caroline draws on her own experience navigating ADHD as a woman, alongside her training in nervous system-based approaches to regulation, to create content that explains the mechanisms behind dysregulation rather than offering surface-level reassurance alone. She brings particular focus to the experience of sensitive, overstimulated mothers, and to the ways hormonal cycles interact with focus, motivation, and emotional capacity. Her guiding philosophy is that healing isn't about becoming a more disciplined or different version of yourself — it's about learning to understand and work with the nervous system you actually have, with compassion rather than shame.

Lesson 1

Welcome: Why Your Nervous System Makes Complete Sense

In this opening lesson, we talk about the core reframe behind the course: nervous system dysregulation isn't a character flaw, it's a logical response to context. This lesson sets the foundation for everything that follows — moving from self-blame toward genuine understanding.

Lesson 2

The ADHD Nervous System, Explained

This lesson breaks down what's actually happening in the ADHD nervous system — how it regulates attention, arousal, and threat differently, and why chronic masking keeps the body in a constant state of low-grade alert. Caroline explains why willpower was never the missing piece, and why body-based signals, not mindset alone, are what actually shift a dysregulated nervous system.

Lesson 3

Dopamine, Motivation, And Why Willpower Isn't The Answer

This lesson reframes motivation entirely. Caroline explains how dopamine actually drives the ADHD brain — responding to interest, urgency, novelty, and challenge rather than importance — and why procrastination is a dopamine mismatch, not a discipline problem. This lesson also introduces how the hormonal cycle shifts dopamine sensitivity across the month, setting up the next lesson.

Lesson 4

Your Cycle Is Data, Not A Disruption

This lesson explores how the hormonal cycle directly affects focus, patience, and emotional regulation — not as an inconvenience, but as meaningful information. Caroline explains how shifting hormones change dopamine sensitivity and nervous system reactivity across the month, and why expecting flat, identical performance every day was never realistic. The lesson closes with a practical approach to working with your cycle instead of against it.

Lesson 5

Regulation In Real Life: For The Sensitive, Overstimulated Mother

This lesson brings everything into the demanding reality of motherhood. Caroline explains why sensitive, ADHD mothers often carry more sensory and emotional load than others realize, why irritability in overstimulated moments isn't a reflection of love or character, and how to notice rising activation early — before reaching full overwhelm. The focus is on small, repeatable ways to top up nervous system capacity throughout the day, rather than waiting for collapse.

Lesson 6

A Guided Reset Practice

This closing lesson moves from understanding into practice. Caroline guides you through a short, body-based reset using breath and grounding — a practical tool you can return to any time your nervous system feels like it's reached its edge. The lesson ends by tying the whole course together: not becoming a more disciplined version of yourself, but finally understanding the one you already are.
