Hey there.
Welcome to a hit of hope.
So maybe it's been a day or a week or a year of too much or not enough.
A time of what now and oh my god what next.
Wherever you are,
Whatever is going on,
Take a moment,
Sit,
Breathe,
Scan your body,
Feel into your forehead,
Your jaw,
The neck,
The shoulders,
The belly,
Your limbs.
See if you can find a deep and gentle breath.
And if you can't,
That's okay.
Just commit to staying here,
To sitting with,
To being in the presence of whatever is present.
It's when we do that that we can really see what is going on.
When we can feel what have our bodies and spirits been carrying,
What's been taking a toll.
And often it is things out of our control and we can feel buffeted this way and that.
We don't know what step to take next.
A good step is the one you're doing right now.
To go in,
To settle down,
To take care of you.
And if you've ever commented on one of my meditations,
You'll know I often say,
Take care of you.
And it can become trite,
But seriously,
If there is anything that I think we all need to do,
That we all need to commit to,
It is taking care.
Because our bodies,
Our spirits,
Our minds,
So many times they are begging for care,
For kindness,
For intention.
And have you ever noticed when we make those choices to take care,
That our bodies are so glad.
Maybe some deep emotions come up.
Heck,
I'm feeling some deep stuff coming up right now just talking to you about this critical thing of taking care.
Because we need it.
My God,
We all need it.
I know I do.
And if you're still listening to me,
I bet you do too.
So what can we do to soothe,
To take care?
What are the ways we can be good to ourselves,
Especially when life keeps offering us crossroads or tests and tests where you do not know the answers,
But the answers really matter?
We can do what we're doing right here.
We can sit and grow still.
We can breathe.
We can take care.
So whatever your day or week or life is like right now,
May you trust that body of yours,
That spirit of yours,
Especially when they're crying out for you to notice,
To stop,
To breathe,
To be gentle.
May you trust that you are okay.
Right here.
May you remember that taking care can mean all kinds of things.
From taking a walk to taking a bath.
From talking to a friend,
To sitting in silence,
To getting a chai,
To looking up at the sky.
So you can listen for all the good whispers at the edges of your life as you live light and take care so you can shine.
