Beth Adelson is a dharma teacher who believes that practice leads to people becoming happy and effective. Her teaching reflects this. She was trained at Harvard as a cognitive scientist & studied insight and discovery phenomena. She is currently Professor Emerita of Psychology and Computer Sciences at Rutgers University. She left Rutgers to teach dharma full-time.

Her current work includes putting the original Buddhist texts into language useful in society today. This comes from an intention to develop meditation practices which help with concerns like chronic pain, interpersonal relations, and eating disorders. Beth has a long-term daily meditation practice, which focuses on Vipassana; Jhana, meditative absorption; and the Brahma Viharas, the transformative qualities of the heart.

Beth is the founder of the 24th St. Sangha in Philadelphia where she is the head teacher. She teaches both groups and individuals face-to-face and using Skype or FaceTime.
