Becoming brave.
It's a choice that we make.
Not a thing that happens all at once.
You don't just wake up one morning and go,
Gosh,
I can do everything that I ever wanted to.
Becoming brave is a process.
It's a choice step-by-step towards a life that we love.
To do the thing that feels like integrity.
To live with more heart and more hope.
Becoming brave is a thing that only you can do.
It's a choice to step through discomfort and step into something different.
I hate to break it to you,
But becoming brave doesn't mean that you won't feel fear.
It won't mean that the difficult things ahead of you suddenly seem easy.
It just means that you do them anyway.
Bravery is doing things when you're resistant,
When you don't know how you'll figure it out,
When you feel under-resourced.
When you can't see the pathway ahead of you.
Being brave doesn't come with a guarantee that it will all work out.
Just means that you reckon with your own resilience and go,
Yeah,
I'm going to take it on.
That you're being called forth by a dream that's so beautiful that you're willing to risk it.
Sometimes being brave comes from being stuck in a place that's so tricky,
Whether that's external or internal,
That you simply have to decide to do it differently.
There can be an upwelling within us.
I have to try.
I want to take it on.
Becoming brave will require you quieting your doubting mind.
I invite you now to feel the back of your body.
Your spine,
Your length,
And your strength.
Feel the column of bone within you.
Sense your heart beating.
It's unlikely you can probably literally do that.
Know that you have something within you that pumps your blood,
That keeps your life force circulating.
Call fire into your heart,
Call passion and permission in.
Being brave is just taking that one next step,
And another one,
And another one.
It's knowing where you get tied and tangled up in your own resistance,
Where your mind goes,
You can't do it.
Who do you think you are?
It'll never work out.
They'll judge you.
Going to say something stark.
They're just voices in your mind.
You don't have to listen to them.
You don't have to pay attention.
And there's an amount of player's choice here.
You can stay stuck and small.
Swamped down.
I can't.
It'll never work for me.
This thing's wrong.
That thing.
That societal thing.
They're against me.
I mustn't.
I can't.
You can do that.
Can do that for days and years and decades.
And for sure there are some valid reasons.
But if you continue believing them,
You may stay stuck forever.
So please disregard the voice of fear in your own mind ground.
Let your energy drop down out of your mind and into your body.
Feel your robustness,
Your resilience,
Your life force rising,
Your will to live,
Your will to love.
Your will to share,
Your will to shine,
Your will to make a difference in this life.
It's feelable in the body,
Isn't it?
That somatic sense of,
I don't know if I can,
But I'm going to try.
Bravery feels a lot like determination.
Like an up search.
Like permission to be passionate.
Like daring to desire it to be different.
To do better,
To live more,
To love more.
Get familiar with this somatic feeling.
Notice your energy will be less in your mind.
More inside your body.
That means you're more present with yourself.
We're more present,
We're more powerful,
We're more potent,
We're more likely for things to go well.
From this place.
Just decide to keep doing one brave thing.
Maybe it's have a daring conversation with someone.
Maybe it's tell yourself how you feel.
Maybe it's doing an action that you've been putting off.
Don't think your way into being brave.
Don't think you'll get conditions lined up and then you'll be brave.
Simply settle into the semantics and make a choice to do the thing.
It's that simple.
You're making a choice to not listen to the voice of fear and to dare to do something differently.
You may meet resistance.
Great!
You met the voice of resistance,
So what?
Come back to sensing bravery.
And daring to do the thing.
The choice of how you live your life is yours.
You want your life to go is yours,
Whether you want to be stopped,
Pulled back by voices of doubt?
You can do that.
Or you can dare to do it differently.
So,
For today,
I want you to find first faith in yourself.
To feel into the surety of landing into your somatics.
That there may well be fear here.
You are here too,
Your presence,
Your passion,
Your potency.
Sense into this somatic self.
Go and do the one next brave thing,
Step by step,
Day by day,
Your life will change.
Practice coming out of your mind.
Into the fire within you,
Into the boldness within your heart,
Into your will to live and love.
And go forth and act from here.
Bravery is simply a choice,
And it's one that we make a million times over.
So go forth and dare to do the thing.
Better be here where the fields.
Choose to change.
Dare to be delighted.
I wish you wellness,
And wildness and wonder.
