Perfectionism is not the same as self-improvement or striving for excellence. Instead, it’s a way of being in the world that is often fueled by fear. Perfectionism can block our access to happiness, ease, and flow. When we can pause and recognize perfectionism as it arises, we can interrupt the pattern with self-compassion, transforming the fear into a deep-seated trust in our Self. This practice begins with an extended centering process to prepare the body and nervous system for moving into the heart. It then engages visualization and working with affirmations to help support the transformation of the underlying beliefs that generate patterns of perfection. This practice features background music from Chris Carter to further support ease in the body.
