Hi,
I'm Anne.
And tonight I'm going to take you on a little journey to a beautiful garden where you can spend some time just watching the clouds.
Have you ever spent time before just watching clouds?
Watching how they can lazily float by and other times Peter have to speed as they roll and tumble across the sky.
Did you know that one of the best ways to rest is to give our mind just one thing to do instead of thinking about everything.
So tonight we will let our mind think about clouds.
So even though it is night and you're tucked in bed,
You're still able to see the clouds.
And that is because you have a very clever mind that can bring the clouds to you no matter where you are.
And all you need to do is listen to my voice,
Follow my instructions and the clouds will come to you.
So make sure that you've done everything that you need to do so that you're ready to go to sleep once you have watched those clouds.
Make yourself nice and comfy cozy.
Pull the covers up,
Wiggle your bottom and shoulders a little and even after we start move and wiggle,
Do whatever you need to do to stay as comfy cozy as possible.
So begin by closing your eyes and just helps you remove distractions and help you listen to my voice.
You might even see the light dancing on your eyes when you close them.
So bring attention to your breath and just notice how your chest lifts as you breathe in and settles and sinks as you breathe out.
Take in another deep breath noticing how the chest will rise even more.
A longer breath out and as you do,
The back of your body connect with the surface that you're resting on.
Just keep doing this.
Deep breath in and longer breath out.
Beginning to feel light and floaty as you breathe in,
Connected and settled as you breathe out.
Just watching the rise and the fall of your chest as you breathe.
And now let your breath just come and go as it wants.
No need to change it.
Can you feel it move in and out of your body?
Is it a little cool in your nose as it comes in?
Can you feel your breath tickle your lip as it leaves your body?
Just spend a few moments feeling your breath.
And now imagine there's a little firefly in your room.
He's beautiful.
He doesn't make a noise,
But he does carry a beautiful light that begins to shine around your room.
Turn your attention to your body and where it lies.
Your firefly is now shining his light right on the top of your head.
The light is warm and comforting.
Notice your head.
Feel where it's resting.
You might even feel a bit tingling,
Noticing the hair squishing into where it lies.
Firefly moves the light down to your shoulders.
Just notice how your shoulders sink into the surface as you breathe out.
Firefly's light is now on your tummy.
Notice how it rises and falls,
A little like a balloon having air blown in and out.
The light continues to move.
It's now on your legs,
Down to your feet,
Your toes and finally the back of your heels where they rest.
Now imagine your body is actually lying on a soft bed of grass and like a mattress it supports and cocoons you.
You're in a garden and you're surrounded by beautiful bright coloured flowers.
Your firefly is now a beautiful butterfly,
Dancing from flower to flower,
Still staying nice and close to you.
When day is warm you feel comfortable resting on this mattress of cool soft grass.
Perhaps you can even feel your fingers being tickled by the grass when your hands are resting.
You can feel a warm breeze brush your skin.
Perhaps you can even feel the butterfly's wings gently brush your cheek.
Turn your attention to the sky above you,
Clouds gently moving across your skyscape.
Just watch the clouds for a moment.
Notice how your body feels as you lie on the grass,
As your skin warm,
Cool.
Feel the grass on your skin.
Bring your attention back to the clouds as they move across the sky.
Notice the colour of the sky.
There can be lots of different blues.
Notice the colour of your sky.
Notice the shapes of the clouds.
Look for the details.
Do they look like they've been painted on the sky with a giant's brush,
Or are they fluffier like cotton wool on a bunny's tail?
Does the speed they move at change,
Or does it remain a constant parade across the sky?
Does their shape look like anything familiar?
Sometimes we see animal shapes in the clouds.
Are there any cloud animals in your sky?
Just spend some time watching your clouds,
Watching them lazily drift,
Perhaps even dance across the sky.
Just spend a few moments enjoying the day,
The clouds.
There's nothing for you to do,
But to rest and to watch.
As you lie there,
Resting on the grass,
Begin to notice the sky is getting a little darker.
Night time is closer.
Your dancing butterfly finishes his dance and turns again into your firefly,
Shining his protective light over you.
Snuggle deeper and deeper,
Just where you're lying.
You're so safe.
You're so protected.
Back in your bed,
And you're ready to have a beautiful,
Dreamy sleep.
Sleep well.
