Hello and welcome,
I'm Anne-Louise.
We're all different,
We all find peace in different ways,
We find peace in different places.
So today,
You'll find your own place of calm.
The place you choose today may be different to where you would have found calm yesterday,
Or to where you will find calm tomorrow.
So for now,
You can sit or lie and just listen to my voice,
Listen to my prompts,
Finding a comfortable position,
Knowing that you can move and adjust throughout the meditation should you need to.
Taking a deep breath in and having a longer breath out,
Taking a deep breath in and longer breath out.
Notice how your body rises and lifts with each breath in,
Notice how your body softens and settles with each breath out.
Allow your breathing to fall into its own natural rhythm.
You may notice that as you meditate,
Your breathing will slow,
It's absolutely normal.
Bring awareness to your whole body,
Notice any areas of tension as you breathe in,
Imagine your breath gently softening and soothing the tension.
Imagine the tension being released as you breathe out,
Becoming more and more comfortable with each breath.
Breathing in calm and breathing out tension,
And now imagine yourself to be in a place that you can feel totally relaxed.
Could be a place from your past,
Perhaps somewhere you imagine that you would like to visit,
Perhaps it's not even a real place,
But somewhere that exists,
Nowhere but within your imagination.
Take a moment to look around you,
Do you see?
Are you indoors,
Outdoors,
Is it spacious,
Cozy?
Start with a physical layout,
Place that you are imagining.
Look around you,
Are you alone,
Or do you share this space with others?
What else do you see?
Notice any colors,
Textures,
Do you hear?
What is the temperature of your place?
Is it warm,
Cool,
Is there a breeze,
Or is the air quite still?
What makes this place so inviting,
So relaxing?
Take a moment to notice how you feel in your space,
Any sensation,
If any thoughts or distractions arise,
You can allow them to drift into the background as you bring your focus back to your place,
Your special place.
Continue to look for details,
Does the place have any aromas associated,
Perfume,
Food,
Plant?
What makes this place so calming,
So relaxing?
Do you do here,
Are you doing an activity,
Walking?
You are simply sitting,
Absorbing the atmosphere,
Allowing the calm just wash over you.
This is a place you feel safe,
Secure,
No pressure,
No deadline,
It's simply a place for you to do what you want and just be you.
Immerse yourself within your sanctuary,
Do you feel,
See,
Hear,
Smell,
Taste,
Just notice,
Just absorb the atmosphere.
And now,
As we end this time in your special place,
Know that you can return whenever you need to take some time just for you,
Or perhaps next time there'll be another special place to visit.
Bring awareness to the space that you're in,
Movement of your fingers and your toes,
And when you are ready,
Open your eyes,
Return to your day.
