Namaskaram,
I'm Ananya and this practice is called Release the Need to Control Everything.
There is a kind of tension that doesn't come from what is happening,
But from trying to make sure it happens a certain way,
A constant adjusting,
A quiet holding,
A subtle effort to stay ahead of life.
And over time,
This effort becomes invisible.
It feels normal to manage everything,
To think everything through,
To try to hold it all together because somewhere inside,
The mind has learned that control creates safety,
But the body does not experience it that way.
Control feels like contraction,
A tightening in the chest,
A holding in the breath,
A constant scanning for what might go wrong next.
So today,
We are not trying to control less.
We are learning to release the need to control at all.
Gently allow your body to settle.
Let the shoulders drop as if they no longer need to hold everything together.
Unclench the jaw,
Soften the space behind the eyes.
Let the breath move naturally.
Notice the breath as it rises and falls.
There is nothing you need to change.
And now bring your awareness to anywhere in the body that feels tight.
Not to fix it,
Just to feel it.
Because this is where control lives.
Now gently ask yourself,
What am I trying to hold together right now?
A situation,
A person,
An outcome,
Or even your own thoughts.
Just notice it.
And then ask,
Is this truly in my control?
Not partially,
Not indirectly,
But completely.
If the answer is no,
Then feel what happens in the body when the grip softens.
Imagine holding something tightly in your hand.
And now slowly opening the hand.
Nothing is forced.
Nothing is pushed away.
You are simply no longer holding it so tightly.
Feel the shift.
The breath softens.
The chest opens just slightly.
There is more space inside you.
Control creates contraction.
Letting go creates space.
And in that space,
There is a different kind of safety.
Not but the safety of trust.
Now gently repeat within yourself,
I do not need to control everything.
I can allow things to unfold.
I release what is not mine to carry.
My body relaxes when I let go.
I trust the natural movement of life.
I am safe even without control.
Let these words settle deep into the body.
If the mind begins to tighten again,
Gently remind it,
Not everything needs me right now.
Take a slow breath in and a longer breath out.
Again in and out.
With each exhale,
Release a little more.
Nothing is being lost.
You are returning to ease.
Stay here with nothing to control.
And when you're ready,
Gently bring your awareness back.
Carry this with you.
You do not need to hold everything together.
Life can meet you halfway.
