Welcome to your meditation practice to help you let go and trust the process,
Trust yourself,
And trust life.
So feel free to come into a comfortable seated position,
Or you're also welcome to lie down for this practice.
And you can bring your eyes to close if you'd like.
And take a nice deep breath in through the nose.
And sigh out through an open mouth,
Beginning to let go and arrive here for your meditation.
Let's do that again breathing in deeply through the nose.
And sighing out,
Letting your body relax.
And do that once more,
Taking a deep breath in and breathing out,
Fully arriving in the present moment.
And check in with your body.
See if you're holding on to any tension.
Maybe your shoulders are gripping.
Maybe your jaw is tense.
Relax.
Feel whatever you are resting upon and see if you can let go of any unnecessary tension,
Allowing your body to rest more deeply into the support beneath you.
And then tune into your breath,
Breathing in and out through your nose and slowing your breath down.
Feel your body expand as you breathe in.
Feel your body releasing as you breathe out,
Awakening a sense of inner calm,
Awakening a sense of inner balance.
Now,
Using your imagination,
Begin to visualize a leaf out in front of you.
You can imagine yourself picking up this leaf and holding it right out in front of your face to gaze at.
And as you bring this leaf into focus,
Just notice its shape,
Notice its color,
Its size.
And let this leaf symbolize you.
And even further out in front of you,
Let yourself see through your mind's eye,
A flowing river.
Walk up to the river and place this leaf gently into it and begin to follow this leaf as it's carried away by the river.
You have no control over the direction,
But can you let go and trust the current,
Knowing that you are safe and supported,
Allowing yourself to surrender to this greater flow of life.
Notice your breath,
And again,
In your mind's eye,
See if you can continue watching yourself as this leaf floating down this river of life.
Maybe there are certain sights that you take in,
Maybe there are sensations that you feel in your own body as you witness this act of surrendering.
Now,
If there is anything in your life right now that you want to release control of,
If there's anything in your life right now that is causing you worry or anxiety,
Doubt,
Feel free to surrender these things into the river of life as well.
In your mind's eye,
You can conjure up an image that symbolizes these things,
And then just like you did with the leaf,
Walk up to the river and place them upon it and let the current sweep them away,
Trusting that the universe has a greater plan for you and that you don't have to control these things,
You don't have to fixate on the outcome,
You don't have to waste your energy worrying about them.
Notice your breath,
And before we step back and let go of this river of life,
See if there's anything else that you intuitively feel drawn to do.
Is there anything else you want to let go of?
Do you want to step into the river of life fully?
Do you want to let your fingers dip into the water?
Take three more breaths,
Just being with this river of life that has the potential to simply carry you so that you don't have to control,
So that you can just let go and be carried.
Now when you feel ready,
Let your awareness let go of the river of life,
Let go of that image in your mind's eye and feel your breath flowing into your body and out of your body.
Take a moment to tap into the energy of trust.
What if you are being carried by the great river of life?
What if there is a greater plan for you to relax into,
For you to be supported by,
For you to lean into and have faith in?
Allow this energy of trust to fill you up and then ground yourself and ground this experience by feeling down into the support beneath you and anchoring yourself in relationship to the earth.
You may want to imagine a root growing out from the tip of your tailbone,
Extending far down into the earth,
Grounding you and anchoring this energy of trust.
Take one more deep breath in through the nose and just sigh it out through an open mouth.
May you carry this sense of trust and the sense of surrender and letting go with you throughout the rest of your day.
