Rise + Shine Morning Meditation For Energy
by Amy Patee
Energize your entire being for your day! During this practice, you'll first be guided to tune in to yourself and set an intention for your day. Then you'll activate and energize each of the seven primary chakras (root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye, and crown) and their associate areas of the body utilizing a simple breathing practice to stimulate energy flow. Upon completion, you'll feel awake, alive, aware, and ready to take on the day ahead!

Good morning!
Welcome to this Rise and Shine Meditation.
This practice is going to help you become fully energized for your day.
You can do this practice while you're lying in bed,
But if you're already up,
Feel free to take a seat,
Bring your eyes to close,
And begin to seek out your breath.
And as you tune into your breath silently or even out loud,
Say,
Good Morning Breath.
Good Morning Life Force Energy.
This breath that is always here with us is one of our most powerful resources for balancing our energy,
Restoring it,
Refueling,
And building our energy or even calming our energy down.
And we'll be working with the breath in a very specific way during this practice to really help you become filled with vibrant energy,
Positive energy,
So that your body,
Your mind,
Your heart,
Your soul,
All have plenty to supply them throughout the day.
And then notice this breath and how this breath is circulating through your body this morning.
Where do you feel the breath moving most within you?
And see if you can adjust your breath just slightly in this moment to make it feel a little bit more soothing to your body.
So you might slow it down,
You might stretch it out,
You might just invite the edges of your inhales and exhales to relax a little bit.
And now that you're a little bit more present,
Tune into yourself and just notice your current energetic state.
Do you feel sleepy?
Do you feel fully awake?
Are you feeling bright and excited for your day?
Or are you feeling a bit drab this morning?
Maybe lethargic or unexcited about your day?
Just take your inner temperature,
How are you?
And again,
Just feeling your breath circulating through your body.
And based on what you just discovered,
Set an intention for yourself and for this practice.
What kind of energetic state do you want to cultivate?
How would you like to feel by the end of this practice?
What emotions do you want to invite in for your day?
And once you've clarified that within your mind,
Just take a breath,
Breathe in through your nose,
Maybe even gently sighing out through an open mouth.
And then letting that intention go and trusting that this practice will deliver you exactly what it is that you need that will support your intention in coming into fruition.
We're going to be working with an energizing breath.
And we'll use this breath specifically within different parts of your body.
And the breath is really simple.
All you'll be doing is inhaling through your nose three short times.
So it'll almost seem like you're,
You're taking three short little sniffs of air in through the nose.
And then you're going to slowly breathe out through an open mouth with pursed lips,
Like you're exhaling through a straw.
Really simple.
Inhaling three short breaths through the nose,
Exhaling one slow breath through the mouth.
So let's try this out first in just a general way.
So you can breathe in a normal breath and breathe out a normal breath.
And then inhaling three times,
Exhaling through your mouth with pursed lips.
Let's do that again a few times,
Inhaling three times and exhaling through an open mouth.
Inhaling three times,
Exhaling through an open mouth.
Good.
And now just pause and just observe how those few rounds felt to you.
This is a very energizing breath.
So if you find yourself becoming anxious or unsettled or just uncomfortable in any way,
Feel free to just stop the breath and let yourself breathe in slowly through the nose and breathe out slowly through the nose.
And you can engage that simple breathing throughout the rest of the practice.
But if you enjoy this energizing breath and if it's really helping you wake up your system,
Then just keep going through the practice.
So again,
Just tune into your body for a moment.
We're going to be doing several rounds of this breath again at different points in the body.
And these points relate to the chakras,
But also specific glands in the body.
So this is a really great way to just wake up your system and get your energy flowing.
So as you inhale,
Go ahead and breathe in and down towards the tip of your tail,
The base of your spine.
You may be able to just feel the breath flowing through this area or sensing any sensation surrounding your tailbone.
And as you center your attention here,
You can breathe in a natural breath,
Breathe out a relaxed breath,
And then inhale three times.
And one slow exhale through your mouth.
Stay focused at your tailbone repeating this a few more times.
Inhale for three.
Exhale,
One long,
Slow breath through your mouth.
Couple more times following your own flow.
Take one more round focusing upon your tailbone,
Your root chakra.
And then let go of that focus and just notice any sensations,
Tingling,
Energy flowing through this area.
And then spiral your awareness up to the very center of your pelvis to your sacral chakra.
And again,
You can just breathe in naturally through your nose,
Breathe out through your nose,
Sensing this part of your body.
And then again,
Inhaling three times and exhaling slowly through your mouth.
Taking a few more rounds focusing at the center of your pelvis.
Take one last round.
Pause,
Let your breath come back to its natural rhythm.
Again,
Observing any tingling,
Any sensations,
Any energy flowing through your pelvis.
And then lifting up your attention into your belly to the solar plexus chakra located right beneath your sternum.
Preparing to wake up all of these digestive organs.
Take a natural breath in as you observe this part of your body.
Breathe out naturally and then inhale for three times.
Exhale through your mouth.
Continue like that a few more times.
Activating and energizing this part of your body with those three short inhales.
And your exhalation is helping to clear out the waste,
The fatigue,
The fog from sleeping.
And then just complete your last round and then just sit for a moment observing this part of your body as you breathe naturally.
And beginning to lift your attention into your heart space,
The center of your chest,
Your heart chakra.
Notice how this part of your body is feeling.
Sometimes there's a sense of heaviness or exhaustion through certain parts of our body while other parts feel light and energized.
So just notice what's here in your heart this morning.
Breathing in through the nose,
Out through the nose,
Preparing.
And then taking three short inhales right into the heart.
Slow exhale through your mouth.
Three short inhales.
Exhale.
A couple more times,
Opening,
Energizing,
And clearing your heart space.
And then let that go and just let your attention come back to even steady breathing.
Noticing how your heart space has been activated.
And from your heart space,
Moving up into the center of your throat,
Your neck,
To your throat chakra.
Just observe this part of your body for a moment.
See if there's any buzz here.
Maybe there's a sense of quietness or numbness or aliveness.
What do you discover as you hold your awareness here?
Feel the breath flowing through this space.
Breathing out completely.
And then taking three inhales and slow exhale through your mouth.
Repeat that right into your throat center.
Take one more round.
Your thyroid gland resides right here at the front of your throat.
We're helping to energize that gland,
Which helps with metabolizing food and everything else that you take in on an energetic level.
Opening up your throat so that you can speak clearly today.
And moving up even further to your third eye chakra,
The space between your eyebrows,
Right behind your forehead.
Feel into this space and just breathe naturally as you observe any sensations through this area.
And we'll exhale out the breath and inhaling into this space three times.
Slow exhale through the mouth.
Repeat that a few more times.
Your pituitary gland is right here as well.
So we are helping that master gland get energized for your day.
Finish with your last exhalation through the mouth with pursed lips.
And just breathe naturally and see if you sense a shift.
See if you can feel a little boost of energy through this area.
And then lastly,
We'll move our attention up to the crown chakra at the very top of your head.
As we touch into this area,
We're also connecting a little into the pineal gland.
First just breathe naturally and observe any sensation here.
Observe any energy here.
And then when you're ready again,
We'll exhale out the breath and inhale three times.
Right into the crown of your head,
Breathe out through an open mouth.
And repeat a few more times.
One last round.
Beautiful.
Stay right there at the crown of your head for a moment and just observe the effects.
And then spread your awareness out from here into your entire body.
And we're gonna do just a few more rounds of this breathing practice for the entire body.
And think about every cell in your body receiving this amplification of energy.
And use again your exhalation as a way of detoxing,
Releasing waste,
Releasing fatigue,
Releasing anything that might stand in your way from feeling at your best today.
So just center your awareness again within your entire body and breathe out naturally.
Take three short inhales for the entire body.
Breathe out through your mouth.
Repeat that a few more times as you're inhaling.
Imagine your body becoming a little bit bigger,
Right?
Filling up with those short breaths.
Expanding gently outward.
One more of those.
Beautiful.
And then just let your breath come back to natural and notice how you feel.
Do you sense a little buzz inside your system?
Do you feel more awake,
Aware and alive?
Do you sense a little buzz inside your system?
Do you feel more awake,
Aware and alive?
Take in your energy.
All right.
So taking this energy that you've cultivated and letting it infuse your intention,
Just remind yourself of that.
And then just let it come back to your body.
So taking this energy that you've cultivated and letting it infuse your intention,
Just remind yourself of what that intention was that you stated at the beginning of the practice.
And let this energy also move forward into your day.
It's like it's lighting up your path.
So everywhere that you go,
It goes.
In fact,
It's guiding you and you can tap back into it at any moment to help you feel more awake,
Alive and aware,
More energized,
More present,
More aligned with your intention.
So come back to just feeling your whole body,
Feel your breath moving through your body.
Noticing whatever you're sitting on or lying down on,
Just feeling the earth beneath you.
For a moment,
Grounding yourself.
Thank you so much for taking this time today to really invest in your wellbeing until next time have a beautiful day.

I want to share an unbelievable experience I just had with this meditation. I had surgery yesterday and my intention was healing. When we got to the throat and 3rd eye, I couldn't energise I had to calm. The fog from the anaesthetic drugs was very strong here. I literally saw and felt it lift. The most amazing feeling. With gratitude π
