The harsh words and feelings,
And sink into the gentleness that is waiting for you like a warm bath.
Gentleness isn't weak or boring,
By the way.
Gentleness is founded on strength.
And from that foundation comes the peace,
The renewal,
And the health and energy to do exciting things.
So as you get comfortable,
Feel your muscles and bones settling into the space.
Feel your energy landing again in your spot.
Your spot,
This gentle power spot on earth right now,
The place underneath you that is holding you.
It's for you and you only.
Feel the welcome of the planet you are on drawing you down into its arms.
Now as you feel that,
Remember all the gentle things that the earth creates.
The soft sunlight at dawn,
The gentle birthing and budding of the flowers that create the earth's gardens of beauty,
The whisper of the breeze,
The gentle cooing of the dove.
All the gentlest things that come from creation.
What would it feel like to receive this gentleness now for you?
To slow down into that current of earth energy that is soft and welcoming.
Soft like the soft body being breathed.
Softly,
Gently.
Feeling how you're resting on the gentle curve of the earth.
Making sure your body has enough space and peace and comfort.
You're safe,
You're here and it is safe to feel yourself exhale as your whole body drops into gentle presence.
So you're just here receiving,
Aware of the sensations in your body,
The gentle soft movement of your breath without having to change anything or make anything happen.
And how sweet that is.
What sweetness there is in this delighting,
This sweetness of no demand.
Knowing that it's perfect in this gentle moment to be receiving and receiving yourself and your space and receiving gentleness.
Remember you have a gentle,
Loving nature.
That's a natural part of you.
That's one of the best parts of being human and being alive.
The gentle,
Loving nature that you are lives in you.
It came with you and with being human.
Part of your makeup.
So greet that part of you now,
That nature of yours,
Like greeting an old friend.
So many times from this part you have said to another,
This is a time to be gentle with yourself.
Be kind to yourself.
So many times from this part of you,
You've offered gentleness to a child or a pet or a leaf or a flower that you are nurturing and growing.
Can you extend this gentleness now to your whole body?
Gentleness softening your sweet face,
Your precious jaw.
Gentleness soothing your shoulders and softening through your whole spine.
With your gentle flow of breath,
Feeling gentleness flow into every weak,
Weary,
Aching part,
Even the parts that may still be bracing.
Letting no part need to feel unserved by gentleness.
Letting gentleness move into all of you,
Into your whole inner world.
And what that means to you.
As your inner space relaxes like a big sigh.
Knowing every piece and part of you is receiving all of this.
All the gentle reassuring smiles you've ever given,
Gathering towards you.
Becoming a gentle inner smile.
All the gentle touch you have extended when you've been stroking your pet or a leaf or the surface of a pool.
That gentleness touching you.
You might even stroke your skin,
The palms of your hands.
Gently stroking your chest,
Your belly.
Gentleness touching you.
All the gentle loving words that have moved from your heart to your lips,
Into the world.
All the gentle thoughts that are all in you,
Have always been in you.
Let them thrive for you now and be for you.
So you can receive all this gentleness just for you and fill your cup.
In your own space,
In your own energy field.
All your own appreciation of the gentle energies of life.
The gentleness of soft air.
The fluffy clouds.
The drifting sky.
The purr of a cat.
The gentle light at the start of the day.
And the gentle softening into dusk.
Gentle rain tending to the green things.
Giving yourself over to this gentleness.
Bathing in it.
Soaking it all in.
Revitalizing you.
Your spirit rising again.
So that things can be different now and better.
Because you have this gentle strength living inside you.
When you move back into the world with yourself,
Stay connected to the aliveness of this gentleness.
And see how it supports you in what you do next.
See what choices gentleness can make for you.
Choices that nurture your system.
And gently build your strength.
And when you're ready,
Take a full breath in and out.
Take a stretch.
Feel your body again.
