My name's Alice and together we're going to go on a wee journey with our imagination.
So first of all we need to get ready,
Get prepared to go on this journey.
So we need to get really nice and comfy.
So maybe you feel like lying down in your bed or in the sofa.
Maybe you want to snuggle down into a really comfy chair that you have or maybe you want to put some cushions on the floor and make a nice comfy space for yourself.
So take your time to get comfy.
Maybe you've got a blanket you want to put over yourself and you can sit or lie and get as comfy as you can.
And now that we're prepared and comfy we're going to imagine that in our bellies,
In our tummies,
We have a balloon.
And this balloon is of your favourite colour and this balloon needs your help to grow big.
So we're going to take air into our body,
So we're going to breathe in and with the magic of the air in your body the balloon is going to inflate,
It's going to get big.
And you can imagine this balloon growing big and strong in your tummy.
And then when you're ready to let the air out you can feel,
You can imagine the balloon getting small again.
Let's try this three or four more times,
So take air in,
Breathe in and the balloon is big and inflated and strong and then breathe out.
You can imagine this balloon getting little,
Getting small again.
Let's do it a couple more times.
Last time.
Okay,
Amazing.
Now we're going to think about the floor,
The ground,
Where we're resting,
Where we're lying.
We're going to close our eyes because that helps us imagine better.
We're going to imagine that it's not cushions or the sofa or the bed under us but it's the earth,
The real earth,
The ground.
And slowly we're going to imagine that we start sinking down into the ground.
And this doesn't feel scary,
It feels interesting,
It feels slow,
It feels safe.
And we keep sinking down and down and down into the earth and down and down and down until we're under the ground.
And you realise that you're inside a lovely warm cosy cave.
This isn't a cave that's cold and dark,
This is a cave that's warm and cozy.
This is a cave that's got nice gentle lights,
That's really soft and snuggly.
And you realise on the floor it's so soft and snuggly because there's maybe cushions or there's a blanket,
Your favourite blanket,
Or there's hay.
And you curl up so safe and warm in this space.
And you've got lovely light and lights all around you and these are of your favourite colour or your favourite colours.
And in this space everything is very calm and very quiet.
And it's so peaceful.
And very quiet.
And it's a place where you can rest.
It smells really natural,
You smell the earth and you smell nature around you.
Perhaps you even feel sleepy and you want to have a rest there for a while.
And this cave is the perfect cave for you.
It's the perfect size,
It's the perfect shape,
It's exactly how you want it.
So as you're lying there,
As you're curled up all safe and protected and warm and perhaps sleepy,
You can look around the cave,
Look at the lovely lights of your favourite colours and the walls that are all soft and close.
And you listen out for any gentle sounds that you might hear of nature.
This is your special place.
Nobody knows about this place but you.
And it feels so safe and so exciting to have this space.
And it feels like the cave's giving you a lovely warm hug.
Like a lovely warm hug you receive from your mum or your dad or someone that you love very much.
And it feels so lovely to be in this space and to be held and hugged like this and to be protected and to feel strong and to feel brave.
So you stay in this space for a little while,
Just resting,
Maybe even sleeping for a while,
And just relaxing and feeling all the soft,
Soft floor below you.
Feeling your body nice and warm and nice and relaxed.
And then slowly you notice that the lights are starting to change colour and the cave is starting to move.
And you realise that you're being lifted up again very slowly and very gently.
You're being lifted up and the ground is opening up and you're coming back up and back into your room,
Your home,
And you're back in your bed or you're back in the sofa or on the floor.
And you start hearing the sounds around you in your room or in your house.
And you feel the bed or the cushions under you and maybe you feel the blanket over you.
And you remember that you are safe and that you can go back to your own special cave whenever you want.
And now what you can do is slowly start moving your toes and your fingers.
Maybe you want to have a stretch and wake up your body.
Maybe you want to have a yawn.
And then slowly you can open your eyes.
