AKA the ‘cleaning out the inner yuk’ meditation’! We all wash regularly, but how often do we dedicate time to clean out all the ‘dirt’ accumulated INSIDE us? This soothing guided visualisation for all ages helps to calm the nervous system, releasing stress, worries, tension and anything heavy. Finish feeling relaxed, refreshed and balanced.

Hello,

It's Alice here.

I've called this meditation Cleaning Out the Inner Yuck and I've come up with this meditation because we regularly dedicate time to cleaning our outside of our bodies but how often do we take time to clean out,

Balance and reset what's going on on the inside on all levels.

So please get into a comfortable position,

Posture,

Sitting in a chair,

Sitting down on the floor,

Perhaps lying down and let's do this short meditation together.

So if it feels okay for you,

You can close your eyes and take a few breaths.

You don't need to change your breath,

Simply noticing it,

Becoming familiar with that regular inhalation and exhalation and use the breath to settle down into your body.

Taking a moment to really notice all the contact points you've got with the ground,

With the earth and giving yourself permission to relax down a little further into your posture and into this meditation.

So today we're going to use our imagination and I'm going to invite you to imagine that you're sitting underneath a very slow,

Very relaxed waterfall made of honey and this honey waterfall is oozing down your body starting from the crown,

So the top of your head,

Working its way slowly and leisurely all the way down your body.

This honey is the perfect temperature for you and surprisingly it's not sticky,

It feels really soft and gentle on your skin.

So you notice how this honey eases down your body going over your face,

Your ears,

Down through that probably tense jaw,

Relaxing everything over your neck and even your throat,

Going down the back of your head as well and as this honey waterfall reaches your shoulders you realise that this honey is cleansing and cleaning not just on the outside but also on the inside,

Giving you a deep clean.

So as this honey waterfall oozes and eases down your body you can feel it cleaning out anything heavy,

Anything tense,

Anything that's worrying you or scaring you,

Anything that's making you feel trapped or tired and it goes all the way down your shoulders,

Down your chest,

The top of your back,

All the way down your spine from top to bottom on the inside,

Working down your arms,

Elbows,

Forearms as it also works down your tummy,

Working through that perhaps tense and tight and closed chest,

Making everything soft and open and lighter.

Working its way down through your hips,

Pelvis,

Genitals,

Hands,

Softening,

Opening,

Relaxing,

Cleaning.

Down through your legs,

From the thighs,

Tired muscles,

Weary bones,

Over your knee joints,

Relaxing and cleaning inside and out,

Down through the bottom of your legs,

Your ankles and cleaning and relaxing all the way through your feet,

Toes,

Soles of your feet.

And you realise that this lovely honey waterfall is collecting around you in a pool and then seeping down into the ground and it continues so you can imagine going back up to the top of your head again,

Working down,

Imagining everything that's tense or dense or tired,

Getting taken down into the earth and seeping away.

The earth is happy to have it,

It will probably turn it into compost.

Anything that doesn't serve you can leave through this honey waterfall.

So passing from the crown of your head down through your face,

Your neck,

Your shoulders,

Your back,

Your chest,

Your tummy,

Arms,

Hips,

Legs,

All the way down to your feet.

You can let the image of the honey waterfall fade away.

Come back to your body and notice that feeling of relaxed lightness and balance.

And take a few breaths as you slowly start moving your body,

Wiggling your fingers and your toes.

And then when you're ready,

You can slowly open your eyes and come back.
