Make yourself comfortable now.
Let your body rest in the way it wants to.
There is nothing you need to do before you rest.
Allow your eyes to close gently,
Or soften your gaze.
Let the room fade into the background.
Begin by noticing your breath,
Not changing it yet,
Just noticing that it is already there.
Now,
Slowly breathe in through the nose,
Easy and unforced,
And gently breathe out through the mouth.
Again,
Breathing in calmly,
Breathing out the day.
With each exhale,
Feel the body soften.
Not all at once,
Just a little more each time.
Let the forehead relax.
Let the eyes rest.
Let the shoulders drop away from the ears.
If your mind begins listing tasks or reminders,
That's ok.
You do not need to push them away.
Just notice them,
And let them drift past.
You are not here to fix anything tonight.
You are not here to plan.
You are here to rest.
Imagine placing every unfinished task on a shelf.
They will still be there tomorrow.
Nothing is lost by resting now.
Bring your attention back to the breath,
Inhaling gently,
Exhaling slowly.
Notice the space your body takes up,
The weight of your limbs,
The surface beneath you supporting everything.
Your body understands rest.
Even if your mind feels unsure,
The body knows when it is time to slow down.
You do not need motivation right now.
You do not need discipline.
You need rest.
Procrastination often comes from tiredness,
From overload,
From doing too much for too long.
Tonight,
You are allowed to stop.
As your breathing stays slow,
The urge to avoid things begins to fade.
Not because you force it,
But because the body is calming.
The nervous system begins to settle.
Alertness gently switches off.
There is no urgency here.
Sleep starts to approach quietly,
Without asking permission,
Without effort.
Thoughts become softer,
Less important,
More distant.
You do not need to decide anything tonight.
Tomorrow will arrive when it does.
Rest prepares you better than worry ever could.
With each breath out,
Feel yourself sink a little deeper,
As if gravity is helping you now.
Let the day release its hold on you.
Let expectations loosen.
Let pressure dissolve.
Breathing slowly now,
Softly,
Naturally.
Your mind becomes more open,
More receptive,
Less resistant.
And as you continue resting here,
Gently allow yourself to prepare to receive the affirmations that will follow.
