Welcome to your practice.
This is a yoga nidra for the waning moon phase.
It's a practice of release.
Find a position where your body feels completely supported.
Take a few moments to make final adjustments,
Knowing that for the next little while there's nowhere else you need to be and nothing else that you need to do.
Allow your eyes to gently close.
Take a slow breath in through the nose.
And sigh it away through the mouth.
Again breathing in.
And breathing out.
One more time.
A slow steady breath in.
And a long,
Gentle exhale.
The moon has begun to wane.
Its light is becoming softer.
Not because it is losing anything,
But because it's making space.
Nature reminds us that not every season is one of growth.
Some seasons are for simplifying.
For softening.
For letting go.
Right now,
Allow yourself to rest in that wisdom.
Nothing to force.
Nothing to fix.
Just this moment.
Start to notice the places where your body is supported.
The feet.
Legs.
Pelvis.
Shoulders.
Ahead.
Let yourself be held.
You do not have to hold yourself up right now.
Now gently bring your awareness to your breath and know there's nothing to change.
Notice the gentle rise as you breathe in and the gentle fall as you breathe out.
With every breath out,
Imagine your body becomes a little bit heavier.
A little quieter.
A little softer.
And now we'll move our awareness around the body.
As I name each place,
Simply notice.
There's no need to move.
Just be aware.
Write some.
First finger.
Second finger.
Third finger,
Little finger.
Palm of the hand.
Back of the hand.
Wrist,
Forearm,
Elbow,
Upper arm.
Shoulder.
Right side of the chest.
Right side of the waist.
Right hip.
Thigh,
Me.
Lower leg,
Ankle heal,
Sole of the foot.
Top of the foot.
Big toe.
Second toe.
Third toe.
Fourth toe and the little toe.
Now the left side.
Left thumb.
First finger.
Second finger.
Third finger.
Little finger.
Palm.
Back of the hand.
Rest.
Forearm.
Elbow.
Upper arm.
Shoulder.
Left side of the chest.
Left side of the waist.
Thigh.
Lower leg.
And cool.
Sole of the foot.
Top of the foot.
Big toe.
Second toe.
Third toe.
Fourth toe little toe.
Bring your awareness to the back of the body.
The back of the head.
Shoulder blades.
Middle of the back.
Lower part of the back.
And the whole back body.
Now the front.
Forehead.
Eyes.
Jaw.
Throat.
Chest.
Dominum.
Belly.
Pelvis.
The whole front body.
Now the whole body together.
Resting.
Breathing.
And supported.
The whole body together.
Resting.
Breathing.
Support it.
The whole body together.
Resting.
Breathing.
Supported.
Imagine yourself standing beside a quiet lake beneath the waning moon.
The water is still.
The air is cool.
The moonlight rests gently across the surface.
In your hands,
You notice you're carrying something.
Perhaps it's a worry.
An expectation,
A disappointment.
I see ya.
A conversation that continues to replay.
A version of yourself that you're ready to outgrow.
There's no need to name it unless you want to.
Just notice its presence.
When you're ready,
Gently place whatever it is you have in your hands onto the surface of the lake.
Watch carefully as the water receives it.
With grace,
No struggle.
No resistance.
Just acceptance.
The ripples slowly widen.
And then become still once more.
Notice how your hands feel now.
Notice how your body feels.
Perhaps nothing has changed.
Perhaps something has softened.
Whatever you notice,
Trust and know that it is enough.
Repeat to yourself,
Silently or quietly out loud.
I release what no longer serves me.
I release what no longer serves me.
I trust that making space allows something new to arrive.
I trust that making space allows something new to arrive.
I honour the wisdom of rest.
I honour the wisdom of rest.
And allow these words to settle like seeds.
No need to force them to grow.
Bring your awareness gently back to your breath.
Feel the gentle movement beneath your hands.
Notice the room around you.
Any sounds nearby.
The surface beneath you supporting you.
Begin to invite a little movement into your fingers and toes.
Gently roll the shoulders and stretch if it feels good.
Take a deep breath.
And as you exhale.
Keep this sense of spaciousness with you.
The waning moon reminds us that letting go is not an ending,
It's a part of the rhythm of life.
Of when you feel ready.
Gently bring your eyes open.
Welcome back to your day
