Welcome.
Before we dive into the meditation,
I want you to know this.
You don't have to try anything.
You don't have to achieve anything.
You don't have to do this perfectly.
In fact,
You don't have to do anything at all.
For the next few minutes,
Let go of all trying.
If you simply stay until the end,
You may notice that something subtle inside of you shifts.
It shifts from effort into effortless being,
Into absolute stillness.
Now.
No more trying.
No more forcing.
No more doing.
Sit up,
And make yourself comfortable.
Let's begin.
Take a deep and steady breath in through the nose.
Hold it.
Hold.
And as you exhale,
Let go of trying to create an experience.
One more slow and deep breath.
And exhale,
Letting go of any desire to control.
Another slow and deep breath.
And exhale,
Letting go of all doing in and of itself.
While resting as concentrated presence,
Soften your body.
Relax your body completely.
Every muscle,
Every cell,
Down to the last atom,
Relaxing.
As you sit here,
Slowly feel your physical body dissolving.
Your body is literally dissolving into the infinite space around you.
And with it,
Your sense of being in a fixed location dissolves as well.
Your sense of location,
Allow it to expand,
Encompassing the whole of creation.
No longer here in this body,
But vast,
Infinite,
No fixation on any thought or feeling that you have.
Just allow it to be there.
Just allow it to be there,
Without being invested in any way.
Do not cling.
Do not indulge.
Do not try to push anything away.
Instead,
Just rest as vast awareness.
This doesn't mean a blank or a dull mind.
It means awareness that is prior to concepts.
Before thoughts divide reality into names,
Ideas,
Or judgments.
In true awareness,
You don't need to force thoughts to stop.
You simply see them so clearly that they dissolve on their own.
You don't need to cut them with effort.
They are cut through naturally,
By the radiance of awareness itself.
Thoughts may arise,
But they leave no trace in awareness.
Like the flight path of birds,
Leave absolutely no trace in the sky.
Rest spontaneously,
Wholeheartedly rest.
Awareness is the only constant.
Everything else,
Even the most radiant spiritual experiences,
Come and go.
What never moves is the seeing itself.
That is your true nature.
