Today we call upon the aesthetic rhythmic medicine of the Sufi breath,
Weaving it together with the ancestral wisdom of the Taino.
This practice is a sacred wind built to fan the inner fire of your soul,

Today's technique is simple.
Two active short inhales through an open mouth,
First into the roots of your belly,
Then into the center of your chest,
Followed by an exhale.
I want you to imagine filling up a balloon inside your belly on those inhales.
On the exhales,
I want you to imagine you are blowing out a candle pushing out the exhales like this.
For the next 15 minutes,
We will weave our breath together like a single tribe,
Matching the rhythm of the music and following into breath holds.
As we begin,
Focus entirely on keeping a steady,
Unbroken pace of the deep breaths.
Let your jaw go completely loose.
Feel the heavy weight of your body anchored into the ground as you lay down into the lap of the Earth Mother.
For the next 15 minutes,

Matching the rhythm of the music and flowing into breath holds.

And right back into the rhythm.
