Hi!
Thank you so much for joining me here on Insight Timer.
My name is Crystal and I will be guiding you through a cord cutting ceremony.
When I do cord cutting ceremonies,
I use candle magic.
You are welcome to use candles for this or you can tie either side of the cord or string to something that holds it steady and taut and you can cut the cord in the center.
I use cord cutting ceremonies to release what no longer serves me.
It creates a space for freedom,
Peace,
And healing.
I invite you to trust your intuition throughout this process,
Adjusting the ritual to align with your unique needs.
To begin,
Find a quiet,
Safe place where you will not be disturbed.
Gather two candles,
A piece of string or cord,
Scissors if you are cutting the cord,
And a sharp pencil or pen or needle with which to carve into your candles.
I use tapered candles and I put them in candle holders.
I use candlesticks.
If you are using candlesticks,
I recommend using shorter ones if you would like to let them burn all the way down,
Which is what I do.
If you are using candles in jars,
I recommend that you have scissors so that you cut the cord rather than burn the cord as it may burn the candles,
Burn into the glass.
So one candle will represent what you wish to let go of.
The other will represent you,
Free of that burden.
For the candle representing what you wish to release,
I use a black candle.
But if a black candle is not available to you,
Any color that resonates with what you're letting go of,
You can always use white candles as they remain a neutral color.
For the candle that represents your freedom,
I invite you to use light blue,
White,
Or yellow.
These are the colors that I choose.
To me,
They represent release and lightness.
Choose colors that represent your true essence,
Free and unburdened.
Now take the pen or the sharper object and carefully carve the name or a description of what you wish to release into the candle that represents it.
On the candle representing your free self,
Carve your name or a phrase that affirms your freedom from this burden.
For both candles,
I need you to be very,
Very specific.
For the freedom candle,
You might write something like,
I am free of that which you wish to release and I am grateful.
You can write it in pen or you can carve it into the candle.
Feel the energy of your intention,
The energy of the release,
And allow it to flow through you as you prepare.
Once you are ready,
Tie one piece of the string or the cord to each candle.
I recommend cutting the string or cord into two pieces because you are going to reunite the string by tying a knot in the center.
This will represent the connection that you are ready to sever.
Ensure that the cord or string is taut and lifted between the two candles,
Not dripping,
As we will cut or burn through this connection during the ceremony and safety is important.
Set the candle securely in front of you,
Ensuring the cords are properly placed so they do not droop or create any risk of fire.
The candle should be close enough to allow you to light or cut through the string without it touching the surface below.
Take a deep breath and when you are ready,
Say out loud or silently your intention to release this burden,
To release this tie.
Speak with clarity,
Kindness,
And gratitude.
I suggest asking for peace and harmony for what you're letting go of rather than letting go with resentment or anger toward that person or situation.
Be specific with your words and feel the weight begin to lift.
End your intention with a powerful affirmation such as,
So mote it be,
Or a phrase that holds deep reassuring meaning for you.
Now if you are going to light the cord,
I invite you here to light right at the knot and then light both candles in whatever order feels right to you.
If you are cutting the knot,
I recommend lighting the candles first and then cutting right in the center of that knot.
Visualize the release unfolding and embrace the sensation of freedom as the cord cuts and burns away.
If you are using jarred candles and cutting the cord,
Visualize the symbolization of severing these ties.
If it feels right to you,
Let the candles and cords burn out completely,
Watching over them carefully.
Remember to never leave candles unattended.
As the flames fade,
Allow a sense of gratitude to fill you.
You've taken a powerful step toward release and healing.
Have 100% faith that you have set this free and you have set yourself free.
In the coming days,
Be gentle with yourself and give space for the energetic shift to unfold.
It may not happen right away.
Be okay with that.
Trust that you are free and that the release has occurred in perfect timing.
Take a deep breath in and a slow breath out.
Feel the peace within and know that you have let go.
Thank you for allowing this ceremony to support you in your journey.
When you are ready,
Slowly return to your day with a lighter heart and a freer spirit.
Again,
Safety is the key here.
Make sure that you are protecting all surfaces and yourself if you are using flame.
And if you are using jarred candles,
Make sure that you are cutting the cord that you tie them together with with scissors or a knife safely.
Thank you for joining Thank you for joining me and I wish you all the best in freedom,
Happiness,
And love.
