Hi,
My name is Crystal and I wanted to thank you for joining me through this guided EFT tapping session for working through hypochondria.
This is something that I have been dealing with and I wanted to share what works for me with you.
Before you begin,
It is important to rate your level of anxiety or distress related to hypochondria or health anxiety.
Rate it on a scale of 0 to 10.
0 being no distress and 10 being maximum distress.
This will help you track your progress as you tap.
Begin by tapping gently on the karate chop point on the side of your hand while repeating this statement,
Take what serves you and leave the rest.
You can repeat it either in your mind or out loud.
We'll tap together.
Even though I struggle with hypochondria or health anxiety and it causes me anxiety,
I deeply and completely accept myself still on the side of the hand.
Even though I have these fears about my health,
I choose to relax and to release them now.
Still on the side of the hand.
Even though this hypochondria or health anxiety overwhelms me at times,
I am open to calming my mind and finding peace.
Now we'll move through the rest of the tapping points.
Tapping on the eyebrow,
This fear about my health,
Side of the eye,
The anxiety and the uncertainty.
Under the eye,
The constant worry and fear.
Under the nose,
What if something is seriously wrong?
Under the lip,
These overwhelming thoughts.
Collarbone,
This hypochondria or health anxiety within me.
Stay on the collarbone.
I feel this fear in my body.
Under the arm,
It is so hard for me to let go of these fears right now.
Top of the head,
But I choose to release them as much as I can now.
Stop tapping for a minute,
Take a deep breath in through your nose and out and check your distress level.
See if there are any changes in how you feel or any sensations in your body and we'll go back to tapping.
Back to the eyebrow,
I choose to feel safe in my body.
Side of the eye,
I release the need to obsess over symptoms.
Under the eye,
My body knows how to heal.
Under the nose,
I trust in my body's wisdom.
Under the lip,
I can be calm and at ease.
Collarbone,
I accept the fears and I release them as much as I can and I embrace peace.
Under the arm,
I am in control of my thoughts and emotions.
Top of the head,
I can find something positive to focus on and focus on what is going right with my body.
Stop tapping,
Take another deep breath in through your nose and release it.
See if your levels or sensations have changed.
I'll do one more round of tapping.
The eyebrow point,
I forgive myself for these fears.
Side of the eye,
It is okay to feel anxious sometimes.
Under the eye,
I release being defined by my hypochondria or health anxiety.
Under the nose,
I am completely worthy of beautiful health and happiness.
Under the lip,
Right now I choose to be gentle with myself.
Collarbone,
I release judgment and I embrace self-love.
Under the arm,
I am stronger than my fears.
Top of the head,
And I deserve peace of mind.
You can stop tapping here,
Take one final deep breath in through your nose,
Sigh it out.
Acknowledge that there is something going on where your body may be trying to protect you and keep you safe and keep you healthy.
But worrying and stressing does not change any outcome.
So once you can accept that,
Then start to look for things that are going right in your body.
Start to look for and be grateful for the things that are going right about your body.
Really be grateful for the health that you do have.
Take a moment to reflect now on any shift in your thoughts,
Your feelings,
Your physical sensations,
And remember that it is normal for emotions to ebb and flow.
You are always welcome to come to this practice whenever you need support.
Make sure you drink some water today,
Go for a walk if you feel like you're having a hard time getting out of your head,
And remember that it is absolutely okay to seek professional help if you find that your worries are significantly impacting your daily life and well-being.
I wish you all the best and I thank you for joining me.
Cheers.
