If your eyes aren't already closed,
You may now let them soften and gently close.
Take another breath in and a long,
Slow breath out.
Letting go of your day.
Letting go of your week.
And if you wish,
You can place one hand across your forehead and one hand at the back of the head.
Just at the very top of the neck.
So half of the fingers are roughly at the top of the neck and half of the fingers are roughly at the bottom of the head.
You can just release those hands wherever you need to.
This helps to settle the mind.
Let's connect with the breath.
Breathe together.
Inhale,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Exhale,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Inhale,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Exhale,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Continuing at that pace.
Perhaps as you breathe,
You notice a rhythm.
A rhythm beginning to carry you inward.
Every inhale,
Steady.
Every exhale,
Soft.
Now see if you can extend the exhale.
Inhale,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Exhale,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six.
Inhale,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Exhale,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six.
Inhale,
Two,
Three,
Four.
And exhale,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six.
Continuing at your own pace.
And as you rest here,
You begin to drift a little deeper.
When you're ready,
At any time you can allow your breath to return to its usual pace.
It's almost as though you're sinking down to the surface beneath you.
Calm is spreading through every muscle.
Here,
You are safe.
You are supported.
Bringing the awareness to the very top of your head.
Imagine warm sunlight flowing down over your skin.
Softening the forehead and any tiny muscles around your eyes,
Letting go.
Your eyelids are heavy and resting.
The jaw unclenching.
And the tongue resting comfortably.
Notice how good it feels to let your whole face be soft.
Now let that wave of relaxation drift down into your neck.
The muscles are unraveling here and the weight of your head is fully supported.
Awareness to your chest and the rhythm of your breath.
Body dropping,
Sinking.
Becoming heavier and heavier.
Allow your heart space to feel wide and open as you are bathed in soft light.
Relaxation flows down the torso,
To the hips and the thighs.
The muscles of the legs soften and release.
And even the bones feel heavy.
Shins relaxing,
Ankles loosening.
Whole of the feet and toes softening.
The whole of the body feels wrapped in comfort.
Soft and completely supported.
Somewhere deep within,
There's a part of you that already knows how to rest.
Already knows how to let go.
And already knows how to return to balance.
You may hear now a gentle whisper within.
I am calm.
I am safe.
Allow these words to drift through you.
Like seeds settling into fertile growth.
I am safe.
Each time you hear them,
They take root a little deeper.
Becoming more natural and more true to you.
And if you choose to sleep now,
May your dreams carry you with kindness.
Peaceful sleep.
With every breath,
You're drifting deeper into comfort.
Drifting,
Floating,
Sinking into stillness.
Every saying around you carries you deeper into rest.
Body heavy,
Heart is open.
Letting go fully.
Completely.
Dreaming.
Drifting deeper and deeper down.
Letting go.
