Hi Resilient Sunshine.
Thank you so much for joining me today for this meditation where I'll invite you to meet your past self,
The past version of yourself that you feel was holding you back.
And as we get ready for this encounter,
I invite you to sit or lay down in a comfortable position and get yourself set up.
And as you set your body up,
Make sure you feel comfortable,
Wiggle a little bit in your place.
And take a couple of deep breaths to settle and ground ourselves here.
Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.
Another deep breath in and a deep breath out.
Let's add one more.
A deep breath in and a gentle,
Gentle,
Deep breath out.
You can go back to your normal breathing and invite you to pay attention to it.
The breath coming in and to the breath coming out.
Focus your attention to your breathing and what's happening as you're breathing in and you're breathing out.
Pay attention to the air coming in your body,
Cleansing it and coming out at your own pace.
That's right.
Now as you're paying attention to this breath coming in and out,
You're feeling a little more settled in your comfortable position.
Your shoulders are a little more relaxed,
A little more relaxed and a little more relaxed.
The muscles of your face are a little more relaxed,
A little more relaxed and a little more relaxed.
And sometimes when we're trying to move forward,
It might feel that parts of ourselves are still one foot backward.
So in this relaxed moment,
I want to invite you to step back and consult with the parts of yourself that are holding onto something and to meet them with compassion.
Try and understand them.
In order for you to be able to move forward a little later.
And as you're now in a much more relaxed position,
Relax mind in a relaxed body.
I'd like you to visualize an even more relaxing space.
Somewhere where you feel safe and at ease.
Somewhere where you can easily be,
And by being,
I mean just be you.
Somewhere where you can be completely comfortable.
Visualize this place.
Is it a room?
Is it outdoor?
Is it inside?
What's on the walls?
How bright or dark is it in this place?
What can you see?
What can you see around you in this safe cocoon within your mind?
What can you see around you?
What makes you feel comfortable in this space?
Can you hear some music or some background noise?
Are there birds around you perhaps?
Are you alone?
Is there someone with you?
Take the time to pick it all in and really feel settled in this safe space.
Now,
Whether you're indoor or outdoor,
I'd like you to welcome into this space the old version of yourself that you can still relate to.
Let it pass the door or get closer to you.
Watch it walk towards you.
Recognize the footsteps you used to have.
Recognize your old haircut that you used to have.
Haircut or hairstyle or whatever you used to have or not have.
Allow this version of yourself to come and sit just in front of you and look at you right in the eyes.
And if you didn't visualize yourself sitting yet in front of this version,
Join her or him.
Join this version of you.
Sit comfortably in front of it.
And I invite you to hold each other's hand gently.
Looking into each other's eyes.
And allow yourself to sit here with grand compassion for this version of you.
Notice how old you were.
And smile at each other if you'd like.
Understand which emotional states this past version of yourself was.
Appreciate the parts you loved about this version of yourself.
What are the parts that you miss the most perhaps?
What are the parts that you really,
Really needed to let go of?
Thank these parts for they have helped shaped you.
Helped shape all the version of you that you are today.
Give yourself some thanks.
And gratitude for these parts.
For these parts that you love.
And with the same kindness,
I'd like you to focus on the less pretty parts.
Those parts that really frustrated you.
These parts that created friction between who you were and who you need to be.
Holding,
Still holding your hands with compassion.
Understanding where these parts came from.
Perhaps some pain or wounds that were still raw and open at the time.
Perhaps some defense mechanisms that had to be broken.
To put in place,
To protect you.
Appreciate these parts with the frustration they generate.
Perhaps even a part of shame or guilt for these sides of yourself.
Appreciate them for they made for the lessons that helped you grow in the person you are today.
They made for the lessons,
They made you grow and evolve for the person you need to be.
For the person you are becoming.
Hold yourself dearly.
These hands with compassion and kindness.
Give them a gentle squeeze of gratitude.
Say thank you.
Thank you for showing me what I didn't want anymore.
Thank you.
Thank you for teaching me what I couldn't have learned without you.
Thank you.
Thank you for being you.
Thank you for being me.
I'd like you now to focus on one final part.
I'd like you to focus on a part of yourself that you still didn't quite get yet.
Perhaps a part that you're very proud of but don't really know why.
A part of you that you admire but that you don't recognize in yourself now anymore.
A part of you that you're kind of proud but still feels like a past version of yourself.
With it a little longer.
Appreciate it.
Appreciate even its mystery.
Perhaps in this moment is the time to invite some insights.
Give space to understand what has been intriguing about these parts of yourself.
Perhaps it was a drive that came from a darker place that you didn't understand.
Or a brighter place that you don't hold within anymore.
Perhaps it's both.
And you're now able to appreciate the duality of things.
Sit with it a tiny bit longer.
And appreciate it.
Appreciate everything about it.
Appreciate the insights.
Appreciate the mystery.
Appreciate its brightness and lightness.
And appreciate its darkness as well.
Appreciate how well-rounded you have been.
Give yourself thanks.
Thank you.
Thank you for holding me into becoming the person that I am today.
Thank you for the lessons.
Thank you for the clarity.
Thank you for what I have learned.
Thank you for getting me here in order for me to get there.
Thank you for what you have done for me.
Thank you for being me then.
Then.
I appreciate you.
Let the gratitude flow from your heart to your past self.
Through your hands holding each other.
Hold yourself there.
Give yourself a final gentle squeeze.
Before letting go of each other's hands.
Appreciate this part of yourself.
Appreciate it as it stands.
As it stands up.
And starts stepping away from you.
Appreciate what it has been.
All its parts.
The good ones.
The uglier ones.
Watch yourself step away.
One step after the other.
Until the door closes behind this old version of yourself.
Or until it disappears in the distance.
It's all you have known.
At a moment in your life.
This past version of you.
Has been there for you.
In order for you to become.
You're still in this comfortable cocoon.
This space where you feel at ease.
You're still sitting there.
Your hands are empty.
And now just open.
They open up.
The gratitude juice just.
Left with your past self.
So you can pay some attention to.
The present you.
Appreciate.
This.
Present version of yourself.
All the insights.
And the growth.
All the evolution.
Everything you have learned.
Even what you haven't fully embodied yet.
This is you.
This is you.
Who you have become.
We.
All you have had.
Making the best of it.
And the best of your ability.
What is one thing.
One specific thing.
About you.
Today.
That you are grateful for.
One specific thing.
That you're the most proud of.
About yourself today.
As little as it might seem.
What is one thing.
One thing.
You admire yourself for.
Can be.
The courage.
Showing up today.
To face some frictions.
It can be.
Something you.
Achieved.
Something you did.
For or with somebody.
Something you did for yourself.
Or for a lesson that you finally learned.
It can be the resilience of.
Facing failure.
Over and over again.
And yet.
Still having the courage.
To find the lesson within them.
To find.
The skills that you still have to learn.
To develop yourself.
Find the compassion.
To accept.
Just you.
And who you are.
And to just be.
I want you to.
Take a deep breath in and out.
In this moment.
Appreciate your groundedness right now.
Appreciate.
How you are.
Just as you are.
Without need to jump.
Into where you could be in the future.
Without a need to jump.
Just be aware of who you were.
Just you.
How you are.
Right now.
Realize the wholeness.
That you have already within your heart.
They might not be easy to see.
On a regular basis.
You might get so accustomed to.
Cherish yourself in this moment.
And thank you.
I'd like you to.
Thank yourself.
One more time.
In this cocoon of safety.
And gently.
Make your way back.
Back to your initial.
Present position.
Outside of that space.
Come back to where we started.
This visualization.
Come back to your body.
Gently.
Slowly.
Come back to your position.
Gently.
Perhaps start moving your fingers.
Make sure that.
Your hands are on your body.
Whether it's on your thighs.
Perhaps.
This feels like the right moment.
To put them over your heart.
Please do so.
Perhaps you'd want to.
Rub your hands against each other.
And put them over your eyes.
Whatever you feel called to.
Whatever you feel called to in this moment.
Just.
Make sure that you're holding parts of yourself.
As you take a deep breath in.
And out.
Gently.
And you thank yourself.
One last time.
Thank you.
Thank you for being here.
Thank you for making the time.
To welcome the insights you needed.
To appreciate who you have become today.
With love.
And resilience.
Thank you.
