Hello and welcome.
My name is Mark Rowland and I invite you to pause with me for these next few moments.
This is your space,
Your gentle return to calm,
In the midst of a busy and perhaps overwhelming day.
If you're carrying stress,
Pressure or fatigue,
Know this,
You don't need to fix or change anything right now.
You only need to arrive safe,
Just as you are.
You are welcome here,
Exactly as you are.
So find a comfortable position,
Let your spine rise tall,
But not rigid,
And let your shoulders soften.
Close your eyes if that feels right,
Otherwise just lower your gaze and let the world around you blur.
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
And a long slow exhale through the mouth.
Again,
Inhale and feel the fullness of life returning to you,
And exhale,
Letting go of all the tension that you've been holding today.
Now,
Just let the breath settle,
Naturally and softly.
Bring your attention to your body,
To this vessel that carries you.
Notice the weight of yourself in your seat,
The points of contact,
The way the earth is holding you.
You are supported,
You don't need to carry it all alone.
Bring your awareness to your feet,
Try to imagine them growing roots,
Right down through the floor,
Deep through the layers of the earth,
Connecting you to something steady,
Something ancient.
Just let yourself be held.
As you breathe,
Soften your hands,
Release the jaw,
Unclench the thoughts.
There is nothing urgent in this moment,
There is only stillness,
Only breath.
Let us now welcome in words that re-centre us,
Words that remind us of who we are beneath the stress.
You may choose to silently repeat them,
Or simply let them wash over you.
I am safe in this moment.
I am grounded and steady like the earth beneath me.
I trust in my ability to handle what comes.
I release what does not serve me.
I return now to calm.
I return now to breath.
I return now to me.
Let these words root into you like seeds,
Feel their truth awaken in your chest.
You are not the storm,
You are the ground it passes over.
Now gently bring your awareness back to your breath.
With each inhale,
Feel clarity entering.
With each exhale,
Release the fog,
The distraction,
The overwhelm.
Let your mind be clear,
Like a lake,
Still,
Focused,
Peaceful.
Say quietly to yourself,
I am here,
I am present,
I am focused.
You are not behind,
You are not failing,
You are arriving.
And that,
My friend,
Is more than enough.
Begin to return gently now.
Now,
Feel your body once more.
Wiggle your fingers,
Roll your shoulders,
And take one final deep breath with me.
Breathing in peace,
And breathing out the weight you no longer need to carry today.
When you are ready,
Open your eyes.
And take this sense of calm with you,
Let it ripple out into the rest of your day.
You are steady,
You are focused,
You are calm.
And you are deeply,
Beautifully,
Perfectly enough.
