Welcome.
This is a tapping sequence for when your mind won't slow down and sleep feels out of reach.
And if you want some astrological and tarot context,
This sequence works with the energy of the moon,
Which is the ruler of the night,
And instinct and the body's natural rhythms,
And the four of swords,
Which is the tarot card of rest,
Recuperation,
And the wisdom of deliberate stillness.
So before we begin,
If you're new to tapping,
Please don't worry at all about getting it wrong.
There's no way of getting this wrong.
And as we move through each round,
I'll remind you of each point and where to find it on your body,
So you just follow along.
And even if your fingers land in roughly the right place,
The tapping works.
The intention and the words matter just as much as the precision,
So please be easy with yourself from the very beginning.
We tap with two or three fingertips,
Gently but firmly,
About five to seven times on each point,
And you can use either hand on either side of the body and just breathe naturally throughout.
And if emotion comes up,
That's okay.
That can mean it's working,
And if no emotion comes up,
That's fine too.
There really is no getting this wrong.
So before we start,
I want you to take a moment to check in with yourself.
Bring your awareness to the restlessness or the wakefulness that you're carrying.
You don't need to analyze it or explain it.
Just notice it and give it a number from zero to ten.
And zero means you barely feel it,
It's not bothering you.
And ten means it's really,
Really intense.
And there's no right answer,
Just whatever number comes up first is the right one for you.
But just make a note of it in your mind,
And we'll come back to it later.
So we're going to start round one with acknowledging the wakefulness.
And acknowledging is the first step in accepting and then moving through.
So we're going to start with a setup statement,
Tapping your karate chop point,
Which is on the side of your hand.
You can either repeat after me out loud,
Or hear your own voice in your head,
Or you can just let my voice carry the energy for you.
So let's begin.
Even though my mind is busy and I can't seem to switch off,
I deeply and completely accept myself.
Even though I'm frustrated that sleep won't come,
And part of me is worried about being tired tomorrow,
I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
Even though I feel wired and restless,
I am willing to let my body begin to slow down,
And I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
And I will continue our acknowledgement by tapping your inner eyebrow,
Your eyebrow point.
My mind is so busy.
The side of your eye,
All these thoughts keep circling around.
Under your eye,
Things I didn't do,
Things I should have said.
Under your nose,
My nervous system is still switched on.
On your chin,
It doesn't feel safe to let go.
Tap your collarbone,
But nothing needs solving tonight.
Under your arm,
Everything will still be there in the morning.
And the top of your head,
Right now,
The only task is rest.
And come back to your karate chop point.
Even though I'm still carrying today with me,
I'm willing to set it down just for tonight.
Even though my body is tense and my thoughts are loud,
I trust that my body knows how to sleep.
And even though I'm worried about not getting enough rest,
I choose to release that worry right now.
And come back to your eyebrow point.
I'm still carrying the weight of today.
The side of your eye,
All the things that happened and all the things that didn't.
Underneath your eye,
My shoulders are still up around my ears.
Underneath your nose,
My jaw is still clenched.
Tap on your chin.
I am allowed to let today be over.
Tap your collarbone.
The four of swords asks me to lay down my swords.
Under your arm,
Just for tonight,
I put them down.
And the top of your head,
Everything can wait till morning.
And back to your karate chop.
Even though sleep has felt difficult lately,
I'm open to tonight being different.
Even though I am tired of being tired,
I trust that my body wants to rest as much as I do.
Even though I can't control whether I sleep,
I can choose to let myself be still.
And come back to your inner eyebrow point.
The moon is doing her quiet work tonight.
The side of your eye,
She is not rushing,
She never does.
Underneath your eye,
I am part of the same rhythm she is part of.
Under your nose,
My body knows how to slow down.
Tap on your chin.
My nervous system is beginning to soften.
Tap your collarbone.
My breath is finding its own natural pace.
Under your arm,
I let the night hold me.
The top of your head,
Rest is coming.
And for the last round,
Come back to your karate chop to give yourself permission to sleep.
Even though part of me feels I haven't earned rest yet,
I choose to release that belief right now.
Even though I find it hard to do nothing,
I am willing to let this be enough.
Even though the night feels long,
I trust that my body knows what to do with the quiet.
And come back to your eyebrow point.
I am allowed to rest.
The side of your eye,
I don't have to earn this.
Underneath the eye,
The dark is not empty,
It is restorative.
Under your nose,
Even the moon goes dark to restore herself.
Tap on your chin.
I let my body be heavy.
Tap your collarbone.
I let my thoughts be quiet.
I tap under your arm.
I let sleep find me.
And tap the top of your head.
I am safe.
I am still.
I am resting.
Now put your hand on your chest and take a slow breath in and let it out fully.
And gently bring your awareness back to the feeling you had at the beginning and notice where it sits in your body now.
Notice if anything's shifted,
Even a little,
And give it a number from zero to ten.
And if the numbers come down even by a point or two,
That's your nervous system responding.
You don't need to be at zero.
Any movement is progress and progress is all we're asking for.
And if the number hasn't moved or if it's moved in the other direction,
That's okay too.
Sometimes tapping brings things closer to the surface before it releases them,
So be gentle with yourself and you can come back to this script as many times as you want to.
So now just close your eyes if you haven't already and take a couple of deep slow breaths.
Let your body sink into the surface.
You've done enough today.
Let the night do the rest.
Thank you for sharing your space with me today.
I wish you plenty of rest.
You
