Welcome to today's practice and welcome to all of your tiny joys.
Take a moment to settle in,
Whether you're sitting or lying down,
Whether this is morning or evening or you're simply pausing as you move through your day.
Let your eyes gently close or soften your gaze.
Take a deep slow breath in and release.
And again inhale and exhale.
Let your shoulders drop and let your jaw soften.
You are here,
You are safe,
You are held.
Begin to gently bring awareness to your body.
Feel the rise and fall of your breath in your chest.
Feel the ground supporting you.
Feel the air brushing your skin.
Nothing to fix,
Nothing to change,
Just noticing.
Now begin to open your heart and mind to the tiny joys,
The small precious things that so often go unnoticed.
A sunbeam through a window.
The softness of a blanket.
A kind smile.
The scent of your favorite tea.
Birdsong outside your window.
The feeling of warm water on your hands.
Let these little joys arise one by one.
You don't have to search hard,
Just allow them to float up like bubbles in still water.
What little thing brought you a moment of happiness recently?
A laugh?
A breeze?
A few moments of quiet?
Let it fill your awareness.
Let it expand in your heart.
You might like to repeat these phrases silently or out loud.
I open my heart to the beauty of the small things.
I allow joy to live in the details of my day.
Even the tiniest moment of delight is sacred.
I notice,
I receive,
I am grateful.
Joy doesn't have to be loud,
It doesn't have to be big.
It lives in the little things.
In presence,
In noticing.
In allowing.
Let that awareness settle gently into your heart now.
Let it warm you.
Let it hold you.
You are surrounded by beauty.
You are connected to joy.
You are alive to the moment.
Begin to return to your breath.
Let your breath gently deepen and wiggle your fingers and toes.
Let yourself smile and when you're ready,
Open your eyes.
Take a moment before you move on.
Maybe bring to mind one small joy you'll look for in the moment.
Thank you for taking this time with me today.
Tiny joys are all around you.
You only have to notice.
Have a wonderful day.
