This is a practice for tired minds and full days.
You don't need to feel grateful,
Just willing.
So as you take a few breaths,
Allow yourself to settle into this space at the end of your day.
Allow your mind to wander through the moments of your day and bring to the top of your mind one small thing.
It doesn't have to be meaningful or profound.
Just let all the moments sift through your attention until you're caught on something real and let it be something ordinary.
Maybe a warm drink,
A quiet moment,
Those few seconds when you glanced out of the window and saw the clouds or the view or the sun.
Notice how it feels to acknowledge it without forcing positivity.
Just an acknowledgement of the relationship between you and the universe or the world.
And if any more moments come to mind,
Let them drift up to you and just rest your attention on them.
You don't have to make meaning of them.
You don't have to put into words why they mattered.
Just noticing them is enough.
And as you've noticed each one,
Just let it go.
Keep breathing gently let the moments of your day pass through you and let yourself feel neutral and unattached to both the positive and the negative.
We don't need to hold on to anything right now.
The day is done.
Gratitude doesn't need energy.
It only needs attention.
And you can rest now.
