Welcome to this meditation,
Coming Home,
A Chakra Body Scan.
Find a comfortable position and let your eyes close.
This practice is a journey through the body,
From the earth beneath your feet all the way up through the crown of your head.
We will move slowly.
There is no rush.
The chakras are energy centers,
Points along the central channel of the body where energy concentrates,
Where we store experience,
Where tension and aliveness both live.
You do not need to believe anything specific about them to benefit from this practice.
You just need to be willing to pay attention.
Take one full breath in,
And as you exhale,
Feel yourself arrive in your body completely.
Here,
Present,
And whole.
We begin at the base.
The root chakra sits at the base of the spine,
The perineum,
The very foundation of your body.
Its color is a deep,
Rich red.
The color of earth,
Of lava,
Of heartwood.
Bring your awareness here now.
The base of your spine,
The backs of the thighs,
The soles of the feet pressing down into the earth.
This energy center holds your sense of safety,
Of belonging,
Of the right to exist and take up space.
Breathe into it gently.
As you inhale,
Imagine a warm red light gathering at the base of your spine.
As you exhale,
Let it spread downward through your legs,
Through your feet,
Into the ground beneath you.
You are connected.
You are held.
You belong here.
Let any tension in the lower body soften and release.
The earth can hold what you are releasing.
That is what earth does.
Moving upward now,
Two fingers below the navel,
The sacral chakra.
Its color is warm orange,
Like the last light of a sunset.
Like amber,
Like embers.
This is the center of creativity,
Of pleasure,
Of flow.
It holds your relationship to feeling,
To desire,
To the capacity for joy and connection.
Breathe into this space now.
Notice what is here.
Is there holding?
Tightness?
Perhaps this center has been working hard,
Processing the emotional weight of recent days.
Let the breath soften it.
Imagine that orange light warming gently.
Not burning or overwhelming,
Just warm and fluid,
Like water moving around a stone rather than against it.
You are allowed to feel.
You are allowed to want.
You are allowed to flow.
And rise now to the solar plexus,
The space above the navel and below the ribs.
The seat of personal power.
Its color is a bright orange.
Warm yellow,
Like sunlight,
Like gold.
This is where your sense of agency lives.
Your capacity to act,
To choose,
To move through the world with confidence.
It is also where anxiety often settles.
That gripping,
Clenching feeling when life feels out of control.
Breathe into this space now.
Feel the belly rise on the inhale.
And on the exhale,
Let any clenching here release.
Deliberately soften the muscles just below the ribs.
Imagine that golden light here,
Steady and warm as a pilot flame.
Your power does not come from controlling everything.
It comes from trusting yourself to respond to whatever is happening.
Whatever comes.
That trust lives here.
And now we arrive at the heart.
The center of the chest,
The breastbone,
The space between the lungs.
The heart chakra glows a deep living green.
The green of new growth,
Of spring,
Of things returning after a hard winter.
This is the bridge between the lower centers,
Earth,
Body,
And power,
And the upper centers,
Voice,
Vision,
And spirit.
The heart is where it all meets,
Where the personal and the universal touch.
Breathe into your heart now.
Not as a metaphor,
But as a literal place in your body.
Feel the chest rise and fall.
Notice if there is any armor here,
Any closing,
Any old hurt that has become a wall.
You do not need to dismantle anything tonight.
Just let the breath move through this space.
Just let the green light do its quiet regeneration.
Let the heart be a little softer than it was a moment ago.
And now move up into the throat.
The neck,
The jaw,
The space behind the mouth.
A clear,
Bright blue.
The blue of an open sky,
Of deep water,
Of a voice heard at last.
The throat chakra holds your capacity to speak your truth,
To name your needs,
To be heard.
Many of us carry tension here.
Years of swallowed words,
Things unsaid,
The toll of performing rather than expressing.
Let the jaw release completely.
Let the tongue soften in the mouth.
Breathe through the throat and notice if there is any holding here.
Imagine that blue light flowing through the throat,
Clear and unobstructed.
You are allowed to have a voice.
You are allowed to be heard.
What is true for you is worth saying.
And now between the eyebrows.
Just above the bridge of the nose.
The third eye.
A deep,
Luminous indigo.
The color of the sky just before full dark,
When it is still glowing from within.
This center holds your intuition.
Your inner knowing.
Your capacity to perceive beyond what is visible.
The part of you that senses the truth before the mind catches up.
Breathe here.
Feel the space between the eyebrows soften.
Let the forehead release completely.
You do not need to think here.
You need to see in the quiet behind the eyes.
There is a knowing available to you that no amount of analysis can produce.
Trust what arises.
Let the deep intelligence speak.
Finally,
We arrive at the crown.
The very top of the head.
A radiant violet light and above it a quality of pure white,
Like starlight.
Like the first clear sky after a long day.
The crown chakra is your connection to something larger than the individual self.
To the universe.
To consciousness.
To the source of all things,
Whatever name you give it.
It is the place where you remember that you are not separate.
That you are held within something vast and generous and fundamentally on your side.
Breathe here right at the crown.
Let the top of the head soften.
Imagine the light here flowing gently downward through all the centers you have already visited.
Root,
Sacral,
Solar plexus,
Heart,
Throat,
Third eye and crown.
All of them illuminated.
All of them breathing.
All of them yours.
Rest here for a moment in the wholeness of your own body.
Every center has been visited.
Every area has been breathed into.
You have brought your own presence to yourself and that is a profound act.
When you are ready,
Take one full breath in through the whole body from root to crown and let it release slowly,
Completely from crown back down to earth.
And gently in your own time,
Let your eyes open.
Carry the sense of openness and ease with you that body remembers.
Thank you so much for sharing your space with me today.
Have a wonderful day.
