A day celebrating Thor symbolizing strength and protection.
It's very easy to see in another something that we find difficult to see within ourselves.
It is said that the world is a mirror and so therefore what we see in someone else resides in us also.
When we admire the strength in someone else it's because we have shown the same strength within our own lives.
At times we can be in fear that if we make changes in our lives or if we feel that we have a lack of control in certain areas that we will not be able to cope with the outcomes that face us.
But there is nothing that you have not shown strength in and overcome as you sit here now.
Whatever you have faced whatever courage you needed to show in those circumstances you experienced you did.
When we acknowledge our own bravery in the face of adversity we gain verification that we are indeed able to contend with what life offers up in the moment.
When we believe that we won't be able to cope and we fear outcomes we can live in a state of anxious thinking trying to second guess what will happen and how you can prevent something unfavorable occurring.
You can become hyper vigilant to suspected pitfalls and you may feel the need to control others in a bid to keep everyone safe and sound.
Yet if you knew deep down that you are courageous that you face many adversities in your life and overcome them all then you show yourself that you can loosen the grip on trying to maintain control over areas that you may have very little true control over.
Then you are better able to stay present in the moment and know that you have all the capabilities to deal with whatever appears.
We always have a level of control over some aspects of our lives and some aspects of our lives we have very little control over.
As long as we know we have the strength and capacity to deal with whatever circumstances appear that gives us that inner state of confidence and calm as we approach our days weeks and months.
That is important information to have about yourself.
It gives us a lot of inner resolve knowing that we are strong and that we are resilient and with that it can offer up new views of our lives and what is possible for us.
We may become more aware of opportunities that open up to us when our apertures widen and we allow more ideas to be contemplated as options because we know that we can face the unknown and also know that we will be okay whatever the outcome.
Just as we make shopping lists for our groceries so that we don't forget,
I want you to take some time and in a notepad or journal make a list of all the times in your life that you have shown great strength and resolve in small and big ways.
The times you were faced with adversity and how you overcame them.
Once you begin to recollect them you will see how many times you've shown a level of strength and determination that you may never have considered true about yourself.
It's a worthwhile list to make and take a look at it every now and again as a reminder that you are stronger than you think you are in many ways.
These are facets of our personalities we tend to forget about and we need to sometimes do something very consciously like make a list and look over it every now and again to reinforce those ideas about ourselves which are very true but we happen to ignore as we go along our days.
Now let's move into our affirmation session.
Take a full deep breath,
Inhale through your nose,
Allow your belly to fill up with air and then slowly exhale with a sigh.
Release the tension in your jaw,
Drop your shoulders,
Allow your whole body to relax.
Repeat these statements to yourself out loud after me or say them silently within.
Alternatively just listen and absorb the words that you hear.
Just listen and absorb the words that you hear.
I recognize and honor the strength I have shown throughout my life.
I have shown resilience and courage on many occasions.
I take care of myself and give myself support as needed.
I trust in my resilience and my ability to overcome challenges.
I am courageous and capable of facing whatever life brings my way.
I release the need for constant control and embrace the present moment.
I am aware of my inner bravery and draw confidence from it.
I acknowledge my past victories as evidence of my strength.
I can navigate uncertainty with calm and trust in my abilities.
I let go of anxious thoughts and ground myself in the now.
As you move through the day,
Practice staying in the moment as much as you can.
Take in your surroundings,
Access them through your senses.
Witness how it feels to be mindful when taking part in everyday activities.
