Meditation For Self Love
by Kiran Patel
We all have a voice within us that talks to us all of the time. It narrates throughout our day, it comments on what it thinks we like or dislike, it is making assumptions and telling us what is going well and what isn’t. If you watch it, you will see all the levels of hypocrisy and contradictions inherent in this voice. You are not this voice. You are the observer of it. If you were the voice, you wouldn’t hear it, you would be it. You are not it. You are love.

Hello and welcome to this meditation on self-love.
My name is Kieran and I am here to guide you today.
We all have a voice within us that talks to us all of the time.
It narrates throughout our day.
It comments on what it thinks we like or dislike,
What the names of things are.
It is making assumptions and telling us what is going well and what isn't.
If you watch it you will see all the levels of hypocrisy and contradictions inherent in this voice.
You are not this voice.
You are the observer of it.
If you were the voice you wouldn't hear it,
You would be it.
You are not it.
But this voice is sometimes so close to us that we think we are everything that voice tells us we are.
It is a storyteller and it may have decided your storyline and character a long time ago,
Somewhere in childhood.
What does this voice tell you about yourself?
Are they kind and compassionate notes about who you are as a human being,
Your positive traits,
Your achievements?
Does it accept your human shortcomings,
Any mistakes that you or any other human walking this planet may make?
Or does it sound more like a cacophony of the worst fears you hold about yourself and it loops them on a repeat pattern throughout your day and sometimes into the night?
It may be subtle in its criticisms but it is leaning towards judgment and negativity when it comes to you and you are captive to its suggestions.
You may have developed a to-do list with regards to yourself,
All the ways you need to fix yourself so that you can be the best version of you possible.
You may have a deep understanding of all your shortcomings but a low on any positive attributes.
You may be able to support and cheerlead others but you abandon yourself when it comes to those same actions.
You are able to love others but find it hard to love yourself because you have listened to some misguided echoes on repeat of who you are and how you need to improve.
This inner voice may be an amalgamation of people throughout your lifetime,
Caregivers,
May be an amalgamation of people throughout your lifetime,
Caregivers,
Parents,
Teachers,
Bosses or partners to name a few.
Their ideas and opinions about you once voiced became embedded on a loop and now play an assorted soundtrack of all the ways you're not quite right.
I am here to let you know that you are not what that voice tells you you are.
You are love itself and any feelings of low worth or not enoughness are only present because of how much you have believed that voice within that has hypnotized you into a false sense of self.
Without that voice who are you?
You are the space of love within which everything arises.
You are far greater than anything you have ever thought about yourself.
You could never be contained within a thought,
Any thought you are far greater than that.
But you cannot know yourself if you are believing the negative iterations being voiced inside of yourself.
You are being distracted from that which you are.
So now it is time to relax as we enter into a meditation and align ourselves with affirmations of who we really are.
Begin by finding a comfortable and quiet space.
Sit or lie down in a relaxed position.
Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.
Inhaling deeply into your chest.
Exhaling slowly into your stomach.
Take a few deep breaths.
Inhaling deeply through your nose and exhaling slowly through your mouth.
Allow yourself to release any tension in your body.
Start from your toes and work your way up consciously relaxing each part of your body.
Feel the tension melting away.
Relax your toes and your feet.
The muscles in your legs.
Moving up to your torso.
Relax your chest and let your shoulders relax.
Release any tension in your arms down to your hands and fingertips.
Unclench your jaw and relax all the muscles in your face and scalp.
Now take a deep breath in through your nose and feel your stomach expand and exhale slowly through your mouth.
Focus on your breath.
Notice how your stomach rises and falls with each breath.
There is no need to breathe in any particular way just notice the movement of your breath.
Now imagine a warm glowing light at the center of your chest.
Your heart center.
Visualize this light growing with each breath radiating love and compassion.
Now repeat these affirmations to yourself.
I am love.
I love and accept myself unconditionally.
I am enough just as I am.
I am worth.
My worth is not determined by external validation.
I radiate love and it returns to me in abundance.
I forgive myself for any mistakes and learn from them.
I am a unique and valuable person.
I am worthy of love and respect.
I love and accept myself completely.
My worth is not determined by my achievements or the opinions of others.
I am deserving of happiness and fulfillment.
I choose to let go of self-criticism and embrace self-compassion.
I trust in my abilities and believe in myself.
I am enough just as I am and I deserve all the good things life has to offer.
My self-worth is not contingent on external validation.
I radiate love and it comes back to me in abundance.
I am a unique and valuable person worthy of love and kindness.
I forgive myself for my mistakes and learn from them.
I forgive myself for any mistakes.
I honor and respect the person I am becoming.
My imperfections make me unique and beautiful.
I release any negative beliefs about myself and embrace my positive qualities.
I embrace self-discovery and embrace all aspects of who I am.
I am empowered to create positive change in my life.
I am a magnet for love and positivity.
My self-love grows stronger every day.
I am proud of the progress I've made and excited about the person I am becoming.
Today I choose to love myself unconditionally.
Picture yourself surrounded by a warm loving light.
Imagine this light enveloping you filling your life with love and happiness.
Filling you with a profound sense of self-love and acceptance.
See yourself basking in this light embracing your true worth.
Take a moment to express gratitude for yourself.
Acknowledge your strengths,
Accomplishments and the unique qualities that make you who you are.
Be thankful for the journey of self-discovery.
When you're ready slowly bring your awareness back to the present moment.
Become aware of the sounds around you and the sensations in your body.
Take a deep breath in and slowly exhale.
When you are ready open your eyes.
Self-love is a practice and you can gift yourself time whenever you need it to reconnect with yourself.
Remember you are love.

Lovely practice and beautiful voice, Wish there was a longer pause between the affirmations, as it feels a bit rushed. ☮️💓✨️
