The Habit Of Worry Vs. The Practice Of Joy

With Kiran Patel

In this short course we look at the ways in which we may have cultivated a habit of worry and how, instead we can begin to look out for the glimmers of joy that exist in our everyday. We can attune ourselves to seek out the delights that surround us and lighten our experience in becoming joy seekers.

Lesson 1

The Habit Of Worry

We may not have been formally taught how to worry, but by the time we reach adulthood many of us have become skilled worriers. We think it will help us in preventing negative experiences, but what it does, is remove us from the present moment and creates a small aperture to seeking joy.

Lesson 2

The Habit Of Joy

Seeking out joy is a practice we can cultivate like any other. We decide to look for joy in every area of our lives and we place one of our most valuable assets, our attention onto it. We can find pleasure in even the smallest of acts and we lighten up our lives and our outlook.

There thought that we are not taught to worry but by adulthood we often do resonated with me. As a teacher and a parent I aim to highlight the joy we experience and growth we achieve. While I strive to focused on joy in my life worry creeps in. This series helped reorient me to a focus on joy.

Some very sound ideas and guidance, albeit delivered at an overly-rapid pace. A slower, more calming version would be preferable.

Just what I needed. A great reminder that we can retrain our minds to seek out the joy rather than the more troubling things that are often beyond our control.

Really enjoyed this shirt course. The only part I personally struggled with was when we were asked to picture a loved one. I don't like when meditations do this. It's 2026, many of us have chosen to go solo. Many of us have come from damaged families and/or our loved ones have passed away. Other than that element this course was really thought provoking and interesting.

A great short course that induced and created some very mindful takeaways and intuitive and purposefully steps toward actions to seek joy actively, consciously, and consistently in any and all situations and scenarios of this iteration of my human experience. And for that, I am extremely grateful to the creator of this course. Thank you so very much for this blessing of a course offering to us!
