It is that time again,
Time to go to sleep.
Welcome back to the Grounded Sleep Podcast.
And I wanna start by just sharing the other night I saw this movie,
Mission Impossible,
And it reminded me of what it's like trying to go to sleep sometimes.
Mission Impossible.
It's the simplest thing in the world.
Just letting go into unconsciousness,
And yet sometimes it's so difficult.
And in tonight's meditation,
Silent sleep,
You might notice that there's no background music.
And the reason for that is because we're gonna be focusing on silence.
In life,
What I've noticed is there's a duality.
There's light and dark.
There's form and emptiness.
There's love,
There's hate,
There's up,
There's down.
Everywhere you look,
You see opposites.
You have protons and electrons.
There's a duality.
And part of this duality is we have sound and we have silence.
We have movement and we have stillness.
So tonight,
Can you let go of all the movement,
Of all the sound,
Of all the noise,
Of all the doing,
And let yourself drop into being.
Let yourself let go into silence and stillness,
And go from the world of form into the world of emptiness,
From conscious to unconscious.
So that was my lecture on duality.
If you haven't yet,
Get into bed,
Close your eyes,
Get comfortable.
And thank you so much for being here with me,
For listening to the Grounded Sleep Podcast.
The only reason I do these is because I get so many messages asking for more.
So as you relax into bed,
As we're getting ready to go to sleep,
I just want you to notice that there is no pressure here.
We're not going anywhere.
We're not here to accomplish anything.
Falling asleep is just an easy letting go into silence.
It's a drifting off into the stillness.
Just notice that stillness in your body.
Notice that silence in your being.
It's very possible that you had a busy day,
And now listening to me,
You're starting to unwind.
So you're going from doing to not doing.
Sometimes folks think that meditation is some kind of doing,
Like it's a fitness exercise.
But it's very counterintuitive.
It's really just a letting go,
And just a being.
As you practice meditating,
One of the most important pieces is learning to move along the spectrum of duality,
To be comfortable in the light,
And to rest at ease in the dark,
To be free to move in the world of form and action,
And to let go into the world of emptiness and formlessness.
During the day,
You function in time,
And when you go to sleep,
You can let go of time.
And the way we let go of time is by being in the moment.
So allow your breath to slow down a bit more.
Perhaps that relaxes your heart rate.
Bring presence into your body,
And just tell your body,
It's time to relax,
It's time to rest,
And it's time to let go.
Let yourself start to drift off slowly into sleep,
Into that dream time,
Into that dream time of being in the moment.
And as you're doing that,
You're letting go of time,
Into that dream time,
Into that deep ocean of rest.
Can you really give yourself permission to just rest?
Let your body get heavier and heavier.
Allow it to melt into the bed.
Allow your head to get heavier,
And drop into your pillow.
As you sleep tonight,
Let your body regenerate and rest.
Regenerate and rest.
Let your cells do the work.
Allow your spirit to travel wherever it needs to.
As you fall asleep,
You can slowly let go of my voice,
And let go of my body.
Just like if you were to get into a boat and push yourself away from shore,
Off the dock,
To cross the river of sleep.
I wish you the deepest rest tonight.
Let yourself dissolve into that silent stillness.
And I'll see you on the other side.
