
Envisioning 2020 (Live Class)
In Part 1 of this live New Year's Day class, David guides you into releasing fantasies about the future, so you can envision and ground reality, and create a truly fulfilling New Year. In order to manifest an abundant future, we have to be willing to heal our past and unlock lost energy trapped in the unconscious.

Welcome to Envisioning 2020.
It is such a pleasure to start the new year this way.
We're gonna get right down to business tonight,
Today,
This morning,
Wherever you are.
And I've decided to break this class down into two parts.
So this tonight's part one and in two weeks we'll have part two.
Because envisioning the next year or decade of our lives takes a lot.
So go ahead and close your eyes.
And let's just start with some gratitude for ourselves.
Maybe give yourself a nice little squeeze,
Like a little hug of gratitude.
Gratitude for making it into 2020 for all the experiences that you've had leading up to this one.
And maybe they haven't been perfect but they've been necessary.
So nice moment of gratitude for yourself here.
And just with that moment of gratitude you might even notice it shifts your energy a little bit.
And then the next thing I'd like you to do is almost just draw your attention out of yesterday or last night,
Out of last year.
And just bring it right behind your eyes.
Here we are.
This is the nature of reality.
It's always this moment.
Our anxiety and stress arises when we try to leave this moment and go somewhere else.
So the paradox of envisioning the future for ourselves is that we,
The more present we can be here,
The more we're able to create the future.
Maybe you let your shoulders drop,
Take a soft deep breath in,
Fill your belly in like a balloon,
Stretch out those nerve endings.
And then easy soft sigh out.
Just release maybe any tension in your hands and in your jaw.
Maybe you scrunch your forehead a little bit.
Ease any tension in your forehead.
In your lower back,
Behind your knees.
We're going to go right into the deep end here.
So awareness behind your eyes.
I want you to look out and all of a sudden as you look out from your mind's eye,
You can see almost these energetic bubbles floating around in your consciousness.
And each one of these bubbles holds something that you've fantasized about into the future.
But something that's not really true for you,
Something that's not real,
Something that's just been pulling you into the future.
Maybe it's made of anxiety or maybe it's made of wishful thinking.
Maybe it's made of fear.
Maybe it's just made of that like out of body energy where you just float around and hope for things.
And so as I say this and as you look at this,
It might even make you go unconscious or floaty.
I want you to stay with me.
And notice just one of these bubbles of fantasy comes right up a few inches in front of you.
And you just look right into it.
Take a look at one thing you've been fantasizing about into the future.
That's kind of been absorbing your energy.
Having you lose presence has just been kind of taking you for a ride.
It's not really real.
It may feel almost like like like filmy,
Like dreamy.
Like you're half awake,
Half asleep,
Has this weird vibration to it of just like projecting into fantasy.
I don't know how else to put it,
But you know,
You've experienced it.
I want you to just take a moment and explore the quality of this energy.
When I was a kid,
I lived in these fantasies.
I floated above my body,
Just fantasizing all day.
I was nowhere near to being present.
I realized I was escaping,
So perhaps you have a bubble that helps you escape.
So you recognize this bubble.
Oh,
I've been fantasizing about relationship.
I've been fantasizing about money.
I've been fantasizing about travel or career or not having any pain.
Like I said earlier,
Honesty is the only way we make progress here.
So be honest with what you've been fantasizing about.
And then what I'd like you to do is you just take your you take your energetic finger.
I want you to pop that bubble.
Just pop the fantasy.
And then almost just like sand,
The fantasy just dissipates away.
You might even need to say the fantasy out loud just so you recognize it more clearly and then you pop it.
You might need to release some emotion around it.
Nothing will free you like accepting reality.
And reality is neither good nor bad.
It just is what it is in this moment.
I want you to find a second bubble,
Draw it in right in front of your mind's eye.
Take a look at it.
What is it made of?
What what's if this was if it was almost made like a dream energy,
What is this dream made of?
What's the emotional tone that this dream is made of?
And as you recognize this dream,
This fantasy,
You start to just come more and more into your body,
Into this present moment in your in your physical body,
Behind your eyes.
See start to see see through this fantasy,
See through this energy.
And if there is fear,
It's OK.
I want you to own the fear.
If there's anxiety,
Own the anxiety.
You're not throwing that away.
You're throwing the fantasy away that it's projected into your mind that is created to distract you.
Anxiety will create fantasies to distract you because it doesn't want your body doesn't want you to feel pain.
So it creates a virtual world to distract you.
And yes,
David is here saying,
No,
We're going to face it even if it's uncomfortable for a moment.
So,
Again,
When you're ready,
Take your energetic finger and pop this bubble.
And if there's some residue of some negative emotion like anxiety or fear or judgment or confusion,
That's not a bad thing.
You need that energy.
You need that energy back to create your next step.
So I want you to be honest.
I feel super anxious.
Good.
Be honest.
Say it out loud if you need to.
Give it a hug if you need to squeeze it.
Let an answer land in your awareness that you've been creating out of this energy,
Creating fantasy out of this energy.
And let's do one more.
And you stick with wherever you're at,
Whatever pace you're going.
So you can pull one more bubble in.
And again,
When you pull these bubbles in,
You might not know what it is right away.
And if you have a hard time seeing,
Maybe you just feel.
So slowly imagine if you were blind and you slowly kind of put your hand,
You slowly put your hand on the bubble and you just sense what's the energetic tone of this.
And you don't exactly know.
That's okay.
And as you do this,
Answers may start to arise.
Ah,
I've been fantasizing about being someone other than I am because I wanted recognition.
You just start to see through it.
Ah,
I've been fantasizing about money because I don't like feeling ungrounded or unstable or unsuccessful.
Own that.
Own the reality of the feeling.
And with your energetic finger,
Pop the fantasy that it's created.
Ah,
Notice the shift of energy.
Be free of these fantasies.
If you got,
If you need to pop one more,
Pop one more,
And then we're going to let this part of the meditation go.
Notice that I haven't asked you to ignore or to push away any negative feelings.
Actually I've been asking you to embrace the reality of those feelings and let go of the fantasy that they create in your mind.
But there is a reality that they're trying to teach you.
Perhaps you've been creating from some kind of energy like anxiety or fear or confusion or invalidation.
I have a PhD in creating from invalidation.
Maybe you have one creating from confusion.
Pat yourself on the back.
If you've created out of confusion,
Then when you heal yourself,
You're going to start creating out of clarity.
If you create out of invalidation,
When you heal yourself,
You're going to start creating out of true self-validation.
If you've been creating out of fear,
You're going to start creating something out of the opposite of fear.
Perhaps for you that feels like confidence,
Certainty,
Love,
Trust.
So now what I'd like you to do is notice what that positive side of it is.
So whatever the negative tone was,
You're starting to learn from it in this moment in meditation.
So if it was anxiety,
Let that anxiety teach you something until it turns into the positive end of it.
So the opposite of anxiety would be peace,
Inner peace.
But you can't get to inner peace by going around anxiety.
You have to go through it.
I'll say it again.
You can't go around it.
You have to go through it.
So I want you to embrace whatever it is.
Take a moment,
Embrace the feeling that's been stopping you,
That's been stopping you from creating,
That's been making you feel small or inadequate or stuck or confused or sad.
Let this energy show you.
Let it show you what it is that you've been working on.
It's no coincidence.
Not only is it not a coincidence,
As you shift this energy,
The anxiety and the confusion or whatever it is,
These are the energies that are going to build the steps of your life path.
These are the energies that are going to build the stones that you're going to walk on towards your enlightenment and towards your fulfillment.
You thought they were boulders that were obstacles,
But they were stones that you needed to understand.
And when you did,
They became parts of your actual life path.
I've never met a successful person who had success on the outside or on the inside that didn't achieve it from some form of hardship.
So in this moment with me,
As you're sitting and meditating,
You're aware of the feeling inside of you and you really embrace it.
Perhaps it actually starts to shift.
What happens if you accept a feeling that doesn't feel so good?
Embrace it,
Show it love.
Show the imperfection,
Love and acceptance and see what happens.
And to make it easier on you,
You can imagine the acceptance starting at the top of your head at the crown of your head and almost like a wave of energy that just travels down through your body like a wave on a pond or a lake.
Like if somebody threw a pebble in,
It just travels concentrically down through your space all the way down through your whole body until it goes out your toes.
And then it comes back up your feet all the way up through your body,
Just this wave of acceptance.
Everything that it touches,
It has no judgment about.
All the way to the top of your head,
That wave comes back to the crown of your head.
And then all of a sudden you could feel the vibration of acceptance on the crown of your head.
And you could feel the vibration of acceptance on the center of your chest and your heart.
You could feel it in your gut.
Notice that energy is starting to settle.
There's a sense of inner peace and quiet.
And before we finish our meditation for today,
Out of this place,
I want you to allow the energy of what it is you are looking to manifest in this next phase,
Chapter,
Cycle of your life.
I want the energy to start to emanate out of you.
Maybe it emanates out of the center of your chest.
And I don't want you to necessarily know what it is or think about it.
It's just an energy that starts to come out.
Maybe it's healing,
Or perhaps it's creativity,
Or perhaps it's love,
Or perhaps it's transformation.
Perhaps it's just light.
You being a light in the world.
I want you to feel,
Really feel that energy.
Let it emanate out of you.
At a certain point in your personal growth,
You have to decide,
Am I going to let the world dictate to me what my future is going to look like,
Or am I going to create from the inside out?
Give yourself permission in this moment.
Give yourself some real permission to emanate whatever energy it is that you want to.
Maybe you've been afraid to love,
And so that genie has been stuck in the bottle,
And right now you just let it out.
Maybe you've been afraid to create because you're afraid of failure,
Or even afraid of success.
Let it out.
Maybe you've been afraid to shine your light because people will criticize you,
Or you won't be accepted.
Let your light out.
Just let it out.
Let it fill in the energy field around your body.
Kind of arms length around you in every direction.
Just let it out.
If you've been struggling with anxiety,
Then perhaps you're on this planet to master inner peace.
And if you've been struggling with fear,
Perhaps you're here to master really going for what it is you want.
Shining your light.
And then that energy that you're experiencing,
Maybe it turns into an image.
Perhaps the energy actually shows you an image.
This is the form I want to take.
Maybe see yourself helping people,
Or writing,
Or creating,
Or healing,
Or loving,
Or traveling.
See if this energy wants to take a form in an image.
Maybe it doesn't yet.
Maybe it just wants to be an energy.
Or maybe it's ready to really take a form and show you an image.
Really own it for yourself.
This is your own soul speaking to you.
And the coolest part about this is as your light starts to shine and emanate out of you,
It illuminates the path in front of you.
So if you're starting to vibrate in love or acceptance,
That love is also made of light.
That acceptance is made of light.
That healing is made of light.
It will illuminate the path in front of you.
And that may just be your next step,
But it will illuminate it.
And you'll start to see and feel more and more clearly.
And that is generated from the inside out.
If you wait for other people to light your path for you,
Then you're never really going to create it in a healthy way.
Because the point is to generate it from the inside out.
Even if they do a great job,
Your family sends you to the best schools and you have the best education,
The best friends,
The best job.
It might not fulfill you because you didn't light it.
Take a nice big deep breath in.
Nice,
Soft,
Gentle sigh out.
You've done an amazing job.
This is the beginning of an incredible journey for you.
Have gratitude that you're able to sit and meditate this long and shift your energy.
And if you feel like you're only halfway through this meditation,
That's totally okay.
That means you got some good work to do.
So let go of any image that you saw,
Recognized you're making the shift from the inside out.
And you're going to have an amazing year,
An amazing decade and beyond if you so choose.
And hopefully in your transformation,
You help others transform as well.
You're special whether you know it or not.
You've got something really unique to share with this world and it is just waiting to manifest out of you.
And it is your job,
Almost as a midwife,
To help it come into form.
And some of it might come out of anxiety.
Some of it might be born out of working through invalidation.
And it is your job to do the work.
And when you do,
You're going to reap the rewards and it'll bring you peace.
Great work.
When you're ready,
You can slowly stretch and open your eyes.

Thank you so much David for this meditation! Manifesting some positive choices. I had to many bubbles, it took me a couple of minutes to focus on one at a time. I felt lighter after the meditation. I've had so many negative things to deal with this last year. Being a very sensitive person my focus was very impaired. You have a uplifting presence David, and gave very good directions.
