Hello there,
My sleepy friend.
Welcome back to the Grounded Sleep Podcast.
On David and tonight.
We're going to be working on accepting hard things as we fall asleep.
So if there's something in your life that you've been ruminating about.
Or really struggling with.
It could be grief.
It could be a breakup.
It could be illness.
It could be financial or friendship.
Or what's happening in the world.
So something that you're having a hard time with.
Perhaps that's keeping you from having a really good sleep.
And tonight we're gonna explore.
Maybe just relaxing our energy.
In relationship to it.
And letting it go for the evening.
So that we can sleep really,
Really well.
So.
Tonight,
Let's move from struggle to rest.
And as always,
You have to be ready for bed to do that.
So go ahead and get ready.
Get your PJs on.
Turn all the lights off.
Make sure your room is the temperature you want it and the energy is just right.
Personally,
I always use blackout curtains.
I keep it a little cool.
I have a very small flat pillow.
But you do you.
And so as you go to bed tonight,
I invite you to just relax your whole body.
Almost show your body.
Hey.
We're going to sleep.
I'm gonna breathe slowly and consciously.
Let those shoulders start to relax a bit more.
And so if there is something that you've had a hard time accepting recently,
Maybe something that's kept you up at night.
Instead of pushing it away.
Instead of trying to ignore it.
Or override it.
If it's here,
It's here.
And the weight of freedom.
The way to healing,
The way to inner peace.
Is by facing and accepting reality.
I know it can be uncomfortable.
And if you're busy throughout the day and you store everything for bed.
This is a good moment to start to let go of some energy.
So there's no need to focus on the story of something that happened.
Or put energy into a mental argument.
I just want you to be aware of how you feel.
Aware of the texture of any energy you're experiencing.
And really let yourself just have whatever feelings you have.
There is no reason to fight anything.
And as you lay here,
As you breathe,
See if you can not lean into trying to figure anything out.
If you notice a feeling.
A sensation of energy.
Allow it to just have some space.
Maybe it just needs to be here.
To be seen,
To be felt.
In a way to air itself out.
If you spend a lot of time during the day problem-solving.
This could be a bit,
Let's say,
Counterintuitive.
Just let it be.
As it is.
Let the energy fluctuate.
Vibrate.
Oscillate.
And just move however it moves through your body.
And let's just bring in some compassion for whatever this is.
For however you feel.
And if you feel bad about something,
It's probably because you care.
So you can validate yourself for caring.
Allow your breathing to slow down a bit more.
And see if you can allow the stillness of the night.
To relax your nervous system.
To allow any energy.
That wants to melt off of you.
To begin to dissolve.
Allow your body to get heavy.
And the way we really find inner peace is by being with reality as it is.
In the moment.
Feel your chest moving up and down.
And your belly as you breathe.
You're not trying to change any feeling,
Any energy.
Even if it's difficult or heavy.
Just allowing yourself to be,
To breathe.
Be honest with your feelings.
And sometimes as we're still.
Energy just on its own begins to shift.
Perhaps what you're looking for is not so much of an answer as much as understanding.
Compassion.
Awareness.
As you fall asleep tonight.
Remembering that life is here to teach you.
To help you grow.
To find out who you are.
And even when we don't feel great.
There is an invitation to open up.
Allow yourself to start to drift away.
Deep into the night.
Breathing.
And just letting go.
And again,
Breathing.
And letting go.
Allowing any energy.
That's ready to dissolve.
Just letting you go.
As you accept this moment.
And fall asleep.
Can let go of the intention that you'll perhaps do some healing tonight.
Some releasing of energy.
And come out the other side.
More grounded,
And more yourself.
Have a deep,
Beautiful rest tonight.
And I'll see you on the other side.
