Welcoming you to this.
Really playful practice to.
.
.
Bring some tender attention,
Gentleness and care to our hands.
So as we begin right away,
You might gaze down at the hand.
Letting your eyes retrieve,
Receive.
Shape,
Texture.
Maybe using one hand to glide over the palm.
Sensing into the sensations of the fingernails.
Perhaps using one hand to embrace the other.
It is very cold in Melbourne at the moment.
My hands and fingers are.
.
.
Feeling that cold.
Sensing into the temperature of your own hands.
Maybe even using the thumb to knead into.
The palm.
Waking up.
Sensation.
You can choose how much pressure to feel.
This isn't something precise.
Nothing to get right or wrong.
Bringing awareness to.
.
.
Your hands.
Sensing into any tenderness.
Really cupping,
Embracing,
Warming the hands.
Noticing.
Tinguina.
Different pressure.
Pangs of energy,
Vibration.
This aliveness.
That you are bringing to the surface of the skin.
And then when you feel complete with that exploration,
Could be now or in a few moments.
My invitation is to move through a little sequence.
Finding any shape where you feel steady and supportive.
Wriggling around a little bit too.
Inch myself a little closer to physical comfort.
We'll begin with the hands gently.
Curled in towards each other.
Maybe the elbows nestled in towards the side.
The shoulders melting down your back.
As you find a gentle breath in,
Let's open and blossom the hands,
Stretching the fingers long.
Then as you find an out breath,
Claw down through the fingers.
Inhale to blossom,
Flower the hands open.
This time exhaling,
Making little beaks,
Pressing the fingers into the thumb.
Inhaling to open,
Blossom the fingers,
Stretch them long.
Exhale,
Closing the fingers,
Thumb on the outside like a little puppy paw.
Now beginning to circle through the wrist.
Maybe both are going in the same direction or opposite.
Changing the direction if you like.
And then maybe your whole body starts to cooperate a little with those wrist circles.
Sensing that cooperation between the forearms,
The upper arm.
The shoulders.
Perhaps you want to lengthen the arms long.
Allowing your breath to be steady,
Fine,
Even.
And then slackening the fingers letting them be loose.
Rolling through the wrist.
Feeling the air.
Between each of the fingers.
I can hear little crackles through my wrists as I'm awakening the joints.
You can be watching the hands.
Your eyes might be closed.
It's sensing into that quality of the movement that you're creating.
That fluidity,
Melody of movement through the hands,
The wrists.
And any other part of your body that wants to be involved to cooperate.
My beautiful Zanzibar plant wants to get involved.
Whenever you feel complete,
Letting the hands rest.
Maybe on the tops of the thighs Perhaps gesturing in towards yourself.
Hands nestling into heart center.
Find this moment to offer a thank you to all that your hands allow you to feel,
To sense,
To experience.
If it feels resonant,
You might even bring to mind Something that your hands allow you to experience.
Something that you love to do.
The first thing that springs to mind for me is experiencing and sensing the softness of My sweet ginger's ears.
Massaging and What do your hands allow you to feel,
To sense,
To experience?
And as you bring that person,
Pet,
Activity,
Peace of nature to mind,
What shifts in the expression of your face?
Corners of your mouth,
The brightness across your chest and collarbone.
You might flatter the eyelids open if they have been closed.
And gazing down at the hands.
What has it been like to spend this time,
This tender awareness and gentleness with the hands,
The wrists,
The fingers?
You might join me in one final conscious intentional breath.
As you're ready,
Your breath in.
And your breath out.
Offering my thank you to you for sharing this practice.
Wishing you a day or week ahead full of connection.
To yourself,
To those around you,
To this magic world that we live in.
