Welcome to your morning meditation. Let's awaken together and begin our day with clarity, vitality and presence. You can choose to practice in any position that feels comfortable for you today - there's no optimal shape. We'll begin by exploring a contemplation and some gentle, embodied breath awareness. I encourage you to let go of the need to have all the answers, and embrace the feeling of being with whatever arises. If you practice this meditation regularly, each day may bring new insights and reflections. The beautiful and wondrous thing about meditation is that it is never experienced in exactly the same way twice. I'll also guide us through a series of affirmations to empower you as you move into the day ahead, connecting you to the inner resources that are always and already within you. I'm sure you will hear the beautiful birds in my garden who were particularly lively and animated this morning! Background music via Leigh Robinson via Pixabay.

Good morning,

My name is Benita,

Thank you so much for choosing to practice together.

This morning practice to awaken,

To aliven and to set the tone for a really intentional and beautiful day.

Take your time here to find a comfortable position.

You can be seated on a couch on the floor,

You might be laying down.

You can be anywhere at all that feels like a good place to practice today.

Settling in and seeing if you can find just a fraction more physical comfort,

Nestling down through your shoulders,

Perhaps opening and closing your mouth a few times.

You could squeeze and separate your fingers and your toes.

And if it feels okay to close down your eyes,

Letting your eyelids grow really heavy and soft.

And let's begin by welcoming all of who we are into this space.

No need to edit,

To perform,

To achieve.

Knowing that you are enough just as you are,

Just as you are in this moment.

Can you let your body soften into this moment?

Really allow yourself to be held and supported.

And without needing to change it in any way at all,

Observing how you're breathing,

What captures your attention about your breath?

Is it the feeling of the air moving in through your nostrils?

Perhaps the subtle hum,

The sound,

The rhythm of your breath.

Perhaps the way the body moves as you breathe,

As the breath dances in and around your physical being.

As you next breathe in,

Ask yourself,

What truly makes me feel awake,

Vibrant and full of life?

This might be a person,

A pet,

A place,

A moment or a thought that stirs something deep within.

What makes you feel truly awake,

Vibrant and full of life?

No need to grasp or force an answer.

Sometimes the answers will come and sometimes not.

Letting yourself steep and marinate in what makes you feel really awake,

Vibrant and full of life.

Let whatever arises be enough,

Without effort,

Without force.

Tuning into the rhythm of your breath as it moves through your body,

The breath as a constant reminder of the flow of life.

Always in motion.

Always with you,

Holding you and supporting you,

This generous breath.

Inhale,

As you breathe in new life and creativity and inspiration,

And exhale,

Releasing what you no longer need.

Inhale,

Invite in fresh energy,

Light and clarity.

And exhale,

Release any tension,

Doubts,

Any distractions.

In your own time,

With your own rhythm and breath flow,

Letting the breath dance through your body,

Cleansing,

Rejuvenating,

Enlivening you.

Inhale and exhale.

Each inhale as the opportunity,

The gift to begin anew,

Begin again.

Let your breath anchor you to this moment,

A reminder that you are alive right here,

Right now.

Observing if there are any places within your body that could soften just a little bit more.

Perhaps your brow,

Your cheeks.

Maybe you can let your jaw,

Your tongue melt down,

Sink down towards the earth.

Could you soften down through your shoulders a fraction more?

Really allowing your body to be held and supported.

The invitation here to tune in to how you're feeling.

Celebrating any tiny shifts,

Any changes at all.

Breathing in and breathing out.

I embrace this new day with openness,

With willingness.

I trust in my ability to handle whatever comes my way today.

Each inhale is an opportunity,

A gift to begin again.

Every exhale is an opportunity,

A gift to let something go.

Today I choose to focus on what brings me energy and joy.

Today I choose to focus on the things that make me feel alive.

Today I choose to let go of the things that hold me back.

Today I choose to move forward with confidence,

Knowing that I am capable.

Today I trust that the things that are meant for me won't pass me by.

I am present in this moment.

And I will make the most of today no matter what it brings.

I am ready.

I am ready.

I am ready.

I am ready.

So seal these affirmations,

Inviting you to take one full expansive inhale deep down into your belly.

And as you feel ready,

Exhaling out through your mouth,

Maybe with a sigh.

Beginning to create some movement within your body.

Stretching out through your fingers.

Swaying,

Rocking.

Slowly beginning to open your eyes.

And orienting yourself in the space.

Observing the space that is all around you.

Carrying this beautiful energy you have created into your day.

Embracing this new day with clarity and presence.

With openness,

Willingness and joy.

I am so grateful to have shared this practice together.

Awakening,

Enlivening,

Living today in alignment.

Wishing you a beautiful day ahead.

And I hope that we can practice together again really soon.

Thank you.

Dear Benita, I loved every second of this session, as I do with everything else you do on Insight Timer. I feel welcome and valued in your sessions which is a massive confidence boost for me. Your voice is so calming with beautifuly relaxing music and I find myself at the ideal point of consciousness. The pace is perfectly relaxed, and my monkey mind slows down. Thank you so much. I'm hugely grateful. I cannot think of a single suggestion for improvement.
