Hello beautiful heroine,
It's Marcella here.
If you've struggled for years to develop a consistent nourishing sleep routine,
You've probably already tried all the things,
Dimming the lights,
Soaking in a hot bath,
Turning off the screens,
Sipping sleepy tea,
Maybe even sleep medication.
And while those tools and practices might have helped you for a while,
Eventually you found to your dismay that you fell off and rebelled against the very routine you created.
I want to offer you a completely different way of thinking about sleep that will reconnect you to the sacred mystery that occurs every time you place your head on your pillow and close your eyes.
Every spiritual tradition teaches some variation on a universal truth that the world we experience as external to us is actually a reflection of our own consciousness.
So you've no doubt heard the famous quote by Anais Nin,
We don't see things as they are,
We see things as we are.
In the Zen tradition is the saying,
Everything you encounter is the self or as Jesus said,
The kingdom of heaven is within you.
So for the heroine who is seeking to release trauma,
Reclaim her self sovereignty and be of genuine service in her world,
Sleep is the most efficient nourishing portal to that transformation.
Because when we drift into sleep,
We enter the realm where our subconscious can take root in the soil of source and grow new possibilities in our waking life.
Okay,
Let me tell you why this is true.
Neville Goddard,
A 20th century mystic and teacher offered an exquisitely feminine way to understand sleep.
He presented our waking consciousness,
The daily activities of cognition,
Decision making,
Reasoning,
Strategizing,
Communicating and so on as the masculine or active aspect of human consciousness.
The feminine aspect by contrast is connected through the ocean of intuition to all that is,
All that ever has been and all that ever will be.
We could say the feminine consciousness is the direct channel that links us to the infinite wisdom of the divine feminine.
Now think for a moment about a time you had something on your mind as you went to sleep.
Let's say it was a problem you were trying to solve.
You thought about it,
Maybe you worried about it as you fell into sleep and then in the morning you woke up with a completely fresh perspective and a simple obvious solution to the problem that you hadn't seen before.
We've all had this experience,
Right?
Why does that happen?
As Neville explains it,
During the process of sleep the seeds of the masculine consciousness impregnate the ocean of feminine consciousness.
The feminine gestates those seeds through the cycles of sleep and births them into form at the start of the new day.
This means our first and final thoughts of the day literally create,
As the Zen tradition puts it,
The 10,
000 things that make up our world.
So how you perceive,
For example,
The news of the day,
The myriad images rushing through your social media feed,
Your bank account,
Your waistline,
Your childhood memories,
Your aspirations for the future,
Your friends,
Your living situation,
All of it without a single exception is nothing whatsoever other than the impressions of your consciousness pushed out into your manifest world.
Do you want to change your thoughts?
Then here's what I suggest as a sleep time ritual.
Consciously choose the thoughts you want to think,
The life you want to lead,
And the world you want to see as you drift off into the womb of your own divine feminine consciousness known as sleep.
When you do this,
Sleep becomes one of the fastest,
Simplest,
And most nurturing ways to literally bring about the fulfillment of your dreams.
Would you like to lose 50 pounds?
Sleep your way to it.
Would you like to forgive your father?
Implant that intention into your feminine consciousness while you sleep.
Here are Neville's sleep instructions made simple.
As you prepare for bed,
Feel into the wish fulfilled.
What do you most long for right now?
And imagine it as already true.
Dwell in it.
Taste it.
Dare to dream it into being.
And one of the ways that you can do this is you could journal or you could say to yourself,
Wouldn't it be wonderful if?
Wouldn't it be wonderful if I lost 50 pounds?
Wouldn't it be beautiful if I forgave my father?
Wouldn't it be beautiful if I had all the money I needed for a comfortable retirement?
Whatever it is.
And then let that feeling state be your final imprint before drifting off.
So if there's a particular challenge you're facing,
Feel before you go to sleep that the problem has already been solved.
You might even say to yourself,
In the morning,
I'll know just what to do.
In the morning,
I'll know just what to do.
Then when you awaken,
Give yourself a similar moment to return to the feeling of your desire already fulfilled and let it guide your steps throughout the day.
So that's it.
Simple.
Okie doke.
This is Marcella here.
I'm fluffing up my pillow and shaking out the bedsheets.
Let's begin.
Lots of love.
Bye for now.
