The room is still,
Yet my mind is restless,
Spinning through echoes of the day,
The what-ifs,
The should-haves,
The unspoken worries that linger.
I turn under the sheets,
Seeking a place of calm,
A soft corner where my body can rest,
But sleep quietly slips away,
Like water through open hands.
I notice the tightness in my chest,
The flutter of thoughts in my mind,
The ache behind my eyes,
And I breathe,
Slowly,
Gently,
Inviting my body to soften,
Even if the mind does not yet follow.
I imagine each exhale as a small release,
Letting go of tension,
Letting go of the need to control,
Letting go of the story my mind insists on telling.
The night holds me,
Not in judgment,
But in quiet acceptance.
I do not need to force sleep,
I only need to be here,
Breathing,
Resting,
Present with myself,
And sometimes that gentle presence is enough.
Before sleep comes,
Even before the eyelids close,
I am giving myself kindness,
I am letting myself be held by the quiet of the night,
By the rhythm of my own breath.
As your body softens,
Bringing yourself into the space,
Bringing your attention to your body,
Feel the weight of your head,
Your shoulders,
Your arms,
Resting.
Notice your chest rising and falling with your breath.
Notice the points of contact where your body meets the bed.
With each exhale,
Allow your muscles to soften a little more.
Scan your body slowly,
Starting from the top of your head,
Crown of your head,
The back of your head,
Forehead smooth and relaxed,
Jaw unclenching,
Lips soft,
Shoulders heavy,
Letting go of any tightness,
Tension,
Arms,
Hands,
Fingers,
Letting them sink into the bed.
Chest and stomach breathing naturally,
Hips,
Legs,
Knees,
Calves,
And feet releasing all tension.
Imagine a warm gentle wave of relaxation flowing from the top of your head to your toes,
Softening every muscle,
Quieting every thought.
Now bring your attention to your breath.
With each inhale,
Imagine drawing in calm,
Peaceful energy.
With each exhale,
Imagine releasing any tension,
Worry,
Or lingering thoughts.
If your mind drifts,
That is okay.
No need to fix,
No need to ponder on it,
Just allow it.
Gently return to the rhythm of your breath without judgment.
With every exhale,
Feel yourself sinking into the bed.
With each exhale,
Feel yourself sinking deeper into the mattress,
Deeper into comfort,
Deeper into stillness.
Now,
Silently repeat to yourself or just simply feel the intention,
It is safe to rest.
I release the thoughts of the day,
I am supported,
I am held,
I am not alone.
I am held,
I am at peace.
Let go of any lingering tension,
There is nowhere to go,
Nothing to do,
Just breathe,
Just be,
Just rest.
Take one last long deep inhale and exhale fully,
Melting into the bed.
Let your thoughts fade into soft clouds,
Drifting away.
There is only stillness,
Only comfort,
Only the gentle rhythm of your breath.
Don't try to force sleep to happen,
It comes naturally as your body softens,
As your mind rests here.
As you take your last guided rounds of breath,
Notice how the body feels,
Notice how your mind feels and allow this relaxation to take you into a period of deep rest.
Thank you for listening to this meditation today and I wish you a great night ahead.
