In this meditation today,
We'll be focusing on calming the nervous system.
Finding a comfortable position.
That suits you at the moment.
Whether it's lying down,
Whether it's seated.
Wherever you are.
Just notice the environment around you.
Anything you see Objects.
Colors.
Noticing the temperature around you.
Noticing the smells.
Sounds.
Texture.
Now I'll invite you to gently close the eyes or lower the gaze.
Still noticing the outside environment.
But starting to tune inwards to your inner world.
And as you close the eyes or lower the gaze,
Allow the eyelids to be softened.
Starting to find your breath.
Taking a deep inhale in through the nose.
And a long exhale out.
Letting go of anything that might not serve you.
To calm the nervous system,
There are many ways that work for many different people.
I'll invite you to experiment and try to see what works for you.
Today we'll be focusing on the breath.
Noticing how a long lengthened and relaxed breath can put us into a headspace and a body state that is much more attentive,
Attuned and present.
And as you give space to whatever comes up,
As you give space in between each thought or each task.
If you give more space in your daily life.
How does that look like?
How does that feel like?
And as you tune into this spaciousness,
Notice the breath.
Notice the body expanding and the body softening.
Notice the rib cage moving.
Opening and closing.
Notice the rise and the fall of the belly and the chest.
And as you breathe here,
I'll invite you to see if any other body sensations come up.
Maybe it's a softening.
Maybe it's tension or tightness.
Maybe it's space.
Maybe it's lightness,
Heaviness.
Whatever it is,
There's no right or wrong.
But rather noticing it.
Getting curious with it.
Cheering into it.
As we give more space to the breath.
To the body.
Check in with yourself.
Notice how this space feels like.
And know that you can invite this feeling at any time in your day.
When you may feel like there isn't enough space,
You may feel claustrophobic.
You may feel trapped.
You may feel rushed.
Just remember that.
Coming back to yourself.
Finding that connection,
Tuning into your breath.
Reminding yourself all the space you have.
Maybe that's what we can do in those moments.
And remember that we're all human,
Trying our best.
At the level of awareness that we have.
To really giving yourself grace,
Compassion,
Ease and calm as we go through the process of being human.
To close this meditation of calming the nervous system.
I'll invite you to place one hand on your heart.
One hand on your belly.
I'm just noticing how this connection and contact feels like.
You can stay here for as long as you need.
We have come to the end of our practice.
Thank you so much for joining me today and I wish you a great day ahead.
