Visualization for me is one of the most powerful tools I have.
I have a very active and visual brain which is great for creative projects,
But if I let it it will happily run off on its own creating disasters and worst-case scenarios and that leads to anxiety.
Being able to actively visualize scenarios that have a relaxing and positive effect is a great way to find calm.
I find that giving myself regular time in visualizations actually calms my brain almost like it needs the workout and so it is less likely to run off at other times.
It's also a fantastic tool that can be used for healing and emotional well-being.

So when you are ready let's take a secret escape to your very own special place.
Make yourself comfortable either sitting or lying down.
Let's start by letting go of some of the tension in the body.
So let's take a nice deep breath in here.
Hold for a moment at the top and then let that breath go and with it the tension in your body and again breathe in and hold and then let go of the breath along with the tension in your body and then just let the breath flow naturally in and out without effort and without you doing it and now let's take a moment to soften through the whole body.
Start at the crown of the head and invite the softness into this area.
If it helps you can visualize a colored light that represents softness and color the crown of your head with that soft light and then allow softness that colored light to spread down from the crown of the head into the face softening the features of the face and the jaw and then into the back of the head softening there and then down into the neck and shoulders coloring the neck and shoulders with that soft color light softening the neck and shoulders and then allow that softness to spread down the arms and into the elbows the wrists and and fingers and then soften into the torso color the torso with that soft colored light let it spread into the chest the shoulder blades softening around the rib cage the abdominals and the diaphragm feeling that breath naturally begin to deepen as you do that soften into the back and through the length of the spine from the neck all the way down into the tailbone color the pelvis with that soft colored light and feel the pelvis soften feel the hips soften feel that softening spreading down into the legs knees ankles feet and toes feel the whole body being bathed in that soft colored light the whole body softening releasing and relaxing now take yourself on a secret escape take your mind to anywhere in the world you wish to go perhaps a beautiful and serene landscape a place in nature or a place from childhood with fond memories take yourself to that place if there is anyone you want to take with you you can this can be a solo trip or you can take anyone with you past present or that you have yet to meet maybe even an animal friend take some time just to look around your special place notice the colors notice the textures notice all the things that you can see and then notice the sounds of this place what can you hear the wind birds sounds of nature music voices what does it sound like to be in this place and notice what does it smell like if you are near the sea can you smell the sea in the air or if you're in nature with plants and trees can you smell them maybe if you are with others maybe they have a scent or a perfume that's familiar what does this place smell like and what does your special place taste like if you are near the sea can you taste the salt in the air or can you taste the sweet grass or the sweetness of nearby fruit maybe you are sharing a special food does your special place have a taste music and what does your special place feel like can you feel the heat from the sun can you feel the wind against your skin blowing through your hair can you reach out and touch things around you what do they feel like if you are with other beings what do they feel like to reach out and touch them hug them what does it actually feel like to be in your special place music what does it feel like emotionally and spiritually to be in this special place music and just take a little bit more time for you in this secret escape breathe into your special place into that space music take some time to explore your special place a place you feel calm and at peace a place you can relax be alone or connect with other beings if you like even if they are no longer physically with you in our physical world and take a few more breaths into the space music music music music music music music music music music music You And now when you are ready,
Bringing your awareness back into your body,
Know you can visit your special place anytime you want or need a secret escape.
Maybe there are even other places you wish to explore.
So feel into your body.
Take a deeper breath here,
Letting that breath go and wriggle fingers and toes,
Gently awakening yourself.
Bringing you a beautiful day filled with the calm and peace from your secret escape.
